The School of New Media Technology Achieved Remarkable Results in 2022 BRICS Skills Competition

On November 6, the 2022 BRICS Skills Competition (Final) came to an end in Xiamen. On behalf of China, students and teachers from the School of New Media Technology participated in the three competitions of Mobile Application Development, Network Security and Augmented and Virtual Reality Technology. After two days of intense competition, teachers Zhang Lili and Xia Liwen guided students Zhou Jianming and Lei Shenpeng to win the national second prize in "Augmented and Virtual Reality". Teachers Li Yong and Luo Zhuojun guided students Lu Xuanjin, Zhang Chengrui and Zhou Lietao to win the national second prize in "Network Security". Teachers Yi Can and Peng Ting guided student Cao Wei to win the national third prize in "Mobile Application Development".

Since signing up for the competition, the team of the School of New Media Technology, under the support and concerns of the college, has been well organized by making full use of summer vacation and extracurricular time to prepare for this competition, laying solid foundation for achieving excellent results. The School of New Media Technology would take this opportunity to continuously strengthen promoting teaching, learning, reform and construction through competitions, and cultivate more landmark achievements for the construction of double-class” level college.

The BRICS Skills Competition, with a total of 28 competition items, is jointly directed by the government departments of the five BRICS countries, aiming to promote the internationalization of high-quality skillful talents training in BRICS countries. The competition is divided into two stages: the kick-off competition and the finals. During the first stage, more than 3,500 international teams from Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa and other countries, as well as over 6,200 domestic teams from various provinces and cities in China, were registered for the competition, with a scale of nearly 20,000 participants. After the selections and fierce competitions, finally more than 1600 teams with nearly 2500 contestants entered the final, which was held online for contestants abroad and offline competition for contestants in China.
