Recently, the review results of the 2022 National Mathematical Modeling Contest for University and College Students in Hunan were announced. Two teacher and student groups of HNMMC won the second prize and the third prize respectively.

The team guided by teacher Zhang Yuanyuan and formed by students Wenda, Zhao Yijia and Yu Gangqiang, and the team guided by teacher Huang Xuan and formed by students Zhang Chengrui, Zhu Jiang and Xu Yuxing, have been training hard, preparing meticulously, striving for perfection, and constantly improving cooperation efficiency and professional ability for the preparation for the competition since they learned the information of the event. In the end, the two teams stood out from 1519 teams in 61 colleges and universities (including undergraduate universities) across the province, winning the second prize and the third prize respectively, which fully reflected the good professional skills and spiritual outlook of teachers and students.

Founded in 1992, the National Mathematical Modeling Contest for university and college students is one of the 19 competitions firstly listed in the "Ranking List of University Discipline Contests". The competition is held once a year, aiming to improve the students’ comprehensive qualities, cultivate their innovative consciousness and ability to solve practical problems with mathematical methods and computer technology. It has become the largest and most influential domestically and internationally basic discipline competition in colleges and universities in China.
