On September 29, the college held a grand military training summary meeting and opening ceremony for freshmen of the class of 2022. More than 3700 freshmen dressed in camouflage and lined up on the playground to receive the review. Li Sanfu, Secretary of the Party Committee of HNMMC, He Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of HNMMC, Liu Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Jiang Minquan, Vice President of HNMMC, Cheng Guizhen, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, Vice Presidents of HNMMC Xu Jingxue, Lei Junlin, Xie Jingwei, and Song Kun, Director of the Hunan Non-commissioned Officer Training Base attended the ceremony. All middle-level cadres and 2022 freshmen counselors participated. The ceremony was hosted by Xu Jingxue.

At 9 a.m., accompanied by the solemn national anthem, the five-star red flag was raised under the escort of the students from the National Flag Class, Li Sanfu announced the start of the military parade.
The march- past performance successively displayed the large patriotic square array, the water bottle square array, the capture fist square array, the dagger drill square array, the tactical square array, and the campus culture square array. All the new students of class 2022 perfectly demonstrated the results of 14 days of hard training with neat and uniform lines, firm and powerful steps and slogans that resounded throughout the world.
After the performance, Vice President Jiang Minquan read out the "Decision on Commending the Freshmen in Military Training". The award-winning advanced units and outstanding instructors received awards on the rostrum.
Li Sanfu presented the banner to the School of Non-commissioned Officer of Hunan Sports Vocational College and made a speech. He highly affirmed the results of this military training, gave warm regards to all the freshmen who had made painstaking efforts in the training, and expressed gratitude to the instructors and staff who had worked hard for the training. Li Sanfu ardently hoped that all the freshmen would stick to a noble belief, establish a lofty aspiration, and fulfill a thorough study plan. They would develop a strong physique, take steps to explore with eyes to discover beauty, and adhere to a good habit, make a group of excellent friends. They would cultivate remarkable talents, and lead a brilliant life.
At the opening ceremony subsequently, six new students' representatives issued a declaration with the theme of "Present Youth to the 20th National Congress of the CPC, Start My New Journey in My Strong Country", giving gifts to the Party and the motherland with youthful righteous ardour.
Zhang Yang, a 21 year old student majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting in the School of Film and Television Arts, made a speech as the representative of the senior students and shared experience in college life and study with the new students.

President He Zhanbing delivered a warm speech, welcoming all the freshmen to join HNMMC. He introduced the college’s achievements and encouraged all the students to start a new journey and write a new chapter together with the media arts vocational college at undergraduate level. He hoped that the new students with lofty ambitions and concerned about home and country, would become an aspiring youth of the new era, a competent youth in the new era who cherish time and study hard, a successful youth in the new era who is down-to-earth and dares to practice, a cultured youth in the new era who cultivates the taste and tempers the moral character.
3700 freshmen sang the school song "We Are Young" together, and the ceremony was successfully completed.
