On November 13, a team consisting of instructors Xia Liwen and Li Canhui and students Xiang Yujie, Li Zewu and Li Huaigu from the School of New Media Technology won the first prize in the Virtual Reality (VR) Design and Production competition in the higher vocational group of the 2022 National Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges.

Affected by the epidemic, the national competition was held in Nanchang National Vocational Education Virtual Simulation Demonstration Training Base, and was mainly conducted in the way of "online competition + offline evaluation". Since the School of New Media Technology won the first prize in the provincial competition and the right to participate in the national competition, the whole college has attached great importance to it by actively coordinating training resources, and organizing teachers and students to prepare for the competition, striving to cultivate a higher grade and quality landmark results for the construction of the provincial Chuyi High-level vocational college. After a fierce competition, our team finally won the first prize in the national competition with excellent professional skills among 62 teams, and the instructors Xia Liwen and Li Canhui were awarded the title of "Excellent Instructor".

Since this year, the School of New Media Technology has been adhering to the idea of promoting teaching and learning through competitions, benchmarking with the vocational college skills competition, strengthening teaching research and promoting teaching reform. Great achievements have been made in winning 12 first prizes in the provincial level and above in the skills competitions for students and the teacher teaching ability competitions, including 5 national and international awards.

The School also takes the skills competition as the driving force, and utilizes the national vocational education teachers' teaching innovation team and the national teaching resource library as the platforms to promote the integration of post, course, competitions and certificates. The pilot of "1+X certificate" was carried out, aiming to comprehensively improve the effectiveness of professional construction and talent training quality. So far, the college has been maintained above 90% in students' employment rate, and won 2 comprehensive awards such as provincial teaching achievement awards, which further consolidated the status of the digital media technology speciality group as the first-class in the province, leading in China and with certain international influence.
