School Introduction
The School of New Media Technology is one of the three key construction schools for the purpose of building the college into an outstanding college. The school was founded in the Internet Plus era. Starting from the new media horizon, focusing on the information technology specialty, the school cultivates highly skilled talents for new media industry clusters. The school consists of six specialties, including the Digital Media Application Technology Specialty (the former Computer Multimedia Technology Specialty) which is the key construction specialty for the construction of the national backbone college and a provincial-level select specialty and the Computer Network Technology Specialty which is a provincial-level characteristic specialty.
At present, the school has 1,200 students and 32 full-time teachers (4 professors and 12 associate professors) and has established a provincial-level excellent teaching team consisting of full-time teachers and part-time teachers headed by famous provincial-level teachers. It has national-level and provincial-level key practice bases and a provincial-level base for skill competitions, training and selective skill examinations. In addition, the school is the chairing unit of the Computer Specialty Teaching Society of Hunan Higher Vocational Education and a vice-chairman unit of Hunan Education Software Promotion Union. The school has very strong teaching and research strength and it has successively compiled and published over 100 different textbooks. It has carried out over 100 national-level, provincial-level and college-level teaching research, teaching reform and scientific research projects and openly published nearly 200 papers. From 2007 to now, the school has successively held various computer application skill competitions for the provincial middle vocational schools and higher vocational colleges and the centralized training for the national-level competitions. Our students have won multiple special awards and first awards in the provincial-level computer application competitions and e-commerce creative, innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for 9 consecutive years. They represent Hunan Province, participate in the national final, win first awards, second award and third awards every year. They have won the honor for Hunan vocational education.
The school adheres to the school philosophy of “Skills are used to accomplish what we want to do” and cultivates highly-skilled talents for the Internet and new media industries by using its wonderful techniques. It has planned to make the number of the students reach 1,800, the number of the full-time teachers reach 40 and the number of the part-time teachers reach 60, including 6 industry leaders with senior professional titles and 21 backbone teachers with sub-senior professional titles, after the 3-year key specialty cluster construction of the Hunan outstanding colleges is completed. At that time, the experiment and practice conditions shall be further improved and a talent cultivation system with “the guidance of the double- professionally-titled teachers, joint construction efforts, hierarchical teaching, practical training for projects and application innovation” shall be completed. A first-class specialty cluster in the province-a specialty with some nationwide influence -shall be built.
Specialty Introduction
Computer network technology specialty
The specialty is a provincial-level characteristic specialty, a national backbone teacher training base, a provincial-level key specialty training base and a provincial-level selective professional skill examination base. The specialty cultivates technological and skilled talents who are qualified for network construction, network management, network security and website design, mainly providing qualified talents for network equipment manufacturers, communication service providers, Internet companies, relevant enterprises and public institutions, the media industry, etc. The main courses include network equipment, network management, website development and network security. Each of the graduates can obtain a network administrator qualification certificate, a network engineer qualification certificate and an information security engineer qualification certification.
Software technology specialty
The specialty is a national-level training construction specialty. The specialty cultivates technological and skilled talents who are qualified for software design, programming, testing and application maintenance, mainly providing qualified talents for software developers, service outsourcing enterprises, relevant enterprises and public institutions, the media industry, etc. The main courses include database programming, object-oriented programming, enterprise level application development, software testing, software operation and maintenance. Each of the graduates can obtain a programmer qualification certificate, a software engineer qualification certificate, a software project management engineer, etc.
Digital media application technology specialty
The specialty is a key construction specialty for national backbone colleges, a provincial-level select specialty and a provincial-level selective professional skill examination base. The specialty cultivates technological and skilled talents who are qualified for digital media design and production, mainly providing qualified talents for the digital publishing industry, the Internet industry, the mobile media industry, the radio, film and television industry, etc. The main courses include digital image editing, network animation design, 3D design and production, digital film and television production, interactive information design. Each of the graduates can obtain an Adobe-certified engineer qualification certificate, an Adobe-certified digital media engineer qualification certificate, etc.
Mobile Internet application technology specialty
The specialty is an “Internet Plus” promotion specialty supported by the provincial finance. The specialty cultivates technological and skilled talents with good team cooperation spirits who are qualified for mobile Internet application construction, technical support, application development, system testing, etc. The main courses include typical sensor development, short-distance transmission network construction, smart terminal APP development, mobile web system design, mobile application operation and maintenance management technology. Each of the graduates can obtain a programmer qualification certificate, a mobile application development engineer qualification certificate, etc.
Cloud computing technology and application specialty
The specialty cultivates technological and skilled talents who are qualified for the system construction, operation, maintenance, testing, evaluation, security configuration and migration services of cloud computing, the cloud computed-related product sales and after sales services, etc., mainly providing qualified talents for Internet enterprises, public institutions, the media industry, etc. The main courses include Linux system management, virtualization technology, cloud computing architecture technology, cloud platform management and application, cloud security technology, cloud data center construction and maintenance. E-commerce technology specialty
The specialty cultivates technological and skilled talents who are qualified for e-commerce platform construction, operation, maintenance, application services, big data analyses, e-commerce technology and services, providing qualified talents for small and medium-sized enterprises. The main courses include commercial website planning and design, commercial website platform construction, network editing practice, commercial website operation and maintenance, customer and commodity information analyses, commercial application software development, mobile e-commerce and new media marketing. Each of the graduates can obtain a network management engineer qualification certificate, an e-commerce engineer qualification certificate, etc.
