Students from the School of Management Won Good Results in the 1st FinTech Application Skills Competition

Recently, the preliminary round of "the Belt and Road and the BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition for the First Fintech Application Skills Competition in 2022" was successfully held online. Teachers Tan Tingting and Zou Hao of the School of Management led two teams composed of 8 students majoring in Financial Services and Management, including Li Jialing, Ma Xiao, Hu Ping, Shao Mingying, Wang Dan, Zhou Shuhui, Tang Xin and Yang Tian, to participate in the competition. After fierce competition, these two teams won the 1st and 3rd places in Hunan Province, the 11th and 16th places in the national competition. Both teams won the second prize of the preliminary round of the national regional competition, among which the teams of Li Jialing, Ma Xiao, Hu Ping and Shao Mingying entered the national finals and are now actively preparing for the competition.

The School of Management has attached great importance to the preparation of this competition, and provided active supports and cooperation in the organization and selection, centralized training, and material logistics. In recent years, the School of Management has adhered to the concept of "promoting teaching and learning through competition, and integrating competition and teaching". By organizing and participating in competitions, the School has encouraged teachers and students to improve their ability to innovate and apply financial technology, and has taken new steps in the cultivation of high-skilled talents in financial technology.

The competition attracted a total of 86 teams from 56 colleges and universities across the country. The BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition is an international competition recognized by the Preparatory Committee for the 2017 BRICS Summit of Supreme Leaders, recorded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and approved by the BRICS Business Council. It is a significant platform for educational cooperation, skills development and people-to-people exchanges among BRICS countries, which has been highly recognized by the BRICS countries and supported by relevant units under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
