On December 29, 2020, the college held a Specialties Construction Seminar for the 20th anniversary of the Founding of the College. Present at the seminar were Professor Liu Zheng, Director of the Academic Affairs Division of Hunan University of Finance and Economics, Professor Luo Yong, Director of the Quality Control Division of Changsha Social Work College, Professor Tang Liqun, Director of the School of Xiang Embroidery Art of Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College, Director of secondary schools (teaching departments) from HNMMC, and relevant staff from the Academic Affairs Division.

Participants conducted discussions on the theme of "New Era, New Specialties, and New Challenge". Professor Tang Liqun took the construction of the embroidery design and arts and crafts professional group of Hunan Arts and Crafts Vocational College as an example, introduced the professional group construction path by deepening the integration of production and education and leading the development of regional characteristic industries. From the perspective of teaching management, Professor Luo Yong proposed the key role and specific methods of promoting professional construction with target management. Professor Liu Zheng introduced the course and experience of the professional development of Hunan University of Finance and Economics and put forward basic strategies for undergraduate specialty construction by comparing the differences between higher vocational and undergraduate specialty construction.

At the meeting, relevant personnel from the secondary schools and the teaching departments and external experts conducted in-depth exchanges on the construction of specialty groups and the specialties connotation.
