E-commerce Technology Resource Library: Offline Hard Work for Presenting Excellence in the Cloud

Facing the outbreak of the COVID-19, as the Hunan Provincial E-commerce Technology (1+X) Resource Library- the only host unit of professional teaching resource library at the provincial level and above in China, the School of New Media Technology of our college responded to the state's call to "suspend classes without stopping teaching and learning", daring to take on social responsibility and to act, and providing professional cloud teaching resources not only for the students of the School, but also for students in other universities nationwide.

According to the latest professional teaching standards promulgated by the Ministry of Education in December 2019, teacher Li Canhui led her team to sort out the curriculum system, focused on building a versatile teaching team, and built needed professional basic courses, core courses and expansion courses, designing course video scripts, recordings video, video editing, online teaching, to ensure high-quality professional courses online teaching.

The course video covers epidemic prevention and the fight against the epidemic, Chinese traditional culture, craftsmanship of a great power, professional norms, professional ethics, socialist core values, etc..

Stories like "heroes in harm’s way", "country governor sells products on live broadcast" were written into their coursework videos. Through micro-course online video, students have improved their professional qualities, enhanced patriotic emotions, and deeply understood the mission and responsibility of the times.

Create a "one-stop" learning platform

During the epidemic, through continuous construction, the e-commerce technology professional resource library (1+X) has completed 35 smart vocational education courses and 2 MOOC college courses. The curriculum cover Web Front-end Development, Online Store Management, New Media Operations, Visual Marketing, Video Production, Business Data Analysis and other professional basic courses and core courses. The total number of construction materials reached 5,369. The total amount of materials was 178.76GB with 19,700 minutes duration of all videos, and the total number of question bank reached 2,586.

The e-commerce technology professional teaching team refined key knowledge points by collectively discussing course content construction, teaching schedule setting, and teaching method research, launching instructional design suitable for online teaching, making resources, organizing classroom tests and discussing topics. On the one hand, utilizing QQ group classrooms, Bilibili.com, Tencent classrooms and other live broadcast platforms as well as smart vocational education online teaching platforms, they managed to create a teaching organization form of "recording and broadcast practical operation process + live broadcasting the practical operation difficulties + cloud teaching interaction" to ensure teaching Effectiveness. On the other hand, teachers can examine the effectiveness of students’ learning through four dimensions: through big data analysis on the platform, getting to know students’ learning behavior, and following up separately for students with low activity participation rates and the length of time to complete study; through homework and task design, detecting the study efficiency of the students; through activities such as random test, discussion, questioning, group competition, etc., to check students' knowledge and focus on the knowledge points with high error rate; through brainstorming, student demonstrations, learning summary and other activities, to test students' ability to solve problems and transfer knowledge. In this way, by focusing on teaching and learning, a "one-stop" learning process has been built for students in terms of curriculum resources, practical operations, classroom tests, group competition, learning discussions, interactive question and answer sessions, and expanding knowledge links.

Help peer colleges build curriculum

In order to facilitate the use of the teaching resource library for online teaching by peer schools, teacher Li Canhui has carefully produced graphic and detailed operation documents to use the resource library for online teaching, and taught the teachers online teaching operations through the QQ control screen function. He established an online teaching guidance group in WeChat, sharing online teaching experience, so as to improve teachers' professional abilities and information-based teaching skills, promoting the construction of teaching staff.

Currently, the E-commerce Technology Resource Library (1+X) is used by teachers and students from 1331 universities, middle and high vocational colleges, such as Tsinghua University, Hunan University, Jimei University, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Shanxi University, South China University of Technology, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Shenzhen Polytechnic, Yiwu Industrial and Commercial College, and Ningxia Xiji County Vocational Middle School. It also serves to 153 enterprises and units, including Harbin Pharmaceutical Group, Large Aircraft Research Institute of China Aerospace Establishment, Peking University Founder Electronics Co., Ltd., and Sany Group. Up to May 15, the number of learning users of the resource library reached 60,506, and the number of visiting users rose from 4,067 on February 7, 2020 to more than 56,000. Various vocational colleges across the country have used the resource library to open 311 vocational education cloud courses. The volume of logs generated by teachers and students each day reaches more than 1 million, and the active resource rate of the resource library reaches up to 97.9%. The curriculum resources produced by teacher Li Canhui were called to use by 72 schools, and 24,000 students were learning online at the same time.
