Military Training Summary Meeting and Orientation Ceremony
On the afternoon of September 29th, the college held a grand 2021 military training summary meeting and orientation ceremony for the 2021 freshmen in the college’s track field. School leaders Yuan Weikun, Jiang Minquan, Cheng Guizhen, Xu Jingxue, and Xie Jingwei were present at the meeting. Directors of the secondary schools, Party branch secretaries, student officers and freshman counselors, and heads of functional offices attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by vice president Xu Jingxue.
The ceremony began with the majestic national anthem. All teachers and students stood up and paid their attention to the rising national flag.
Party Secretary Yuan Weikun Announced the Start of the Display of Military Training Achievements
After the flag was raised, Yu Zhi, deputy captain of the 2021 freshman military training instructor brigade, reported the preparations to Yuan Weikun, secretary of the Party Committee of the college, and Yuan announced the start of the display of military training results.
3,350 new students participated in the results exhibition of military training, including campus culture phalanx, water bottle phalanx, military sports boxing phalanx, emergency stick phalanx, 37 phalanx marching patterns, etc.. The excellent performance in rich fully reflect the achievements of the 2021 freshmen’s hard work in military training.
Vice president Xie Jingwei gave a summary speech on military training. He fully affirmed the results of this military training, and summed up the successful practice of this military training into three points. First, careful planning and not fighting unprepared battles. Second, don’t afraid of hardships and daring to fight hard battles. Third, multi-departmental coordination to fight an organized battle for victory.
Vice president Jiang Minquan read the "New Military Training Commendation Decision". The leaders presented awarded to the advanced units and outstanding instructors on the list. Party Secretary Yuan Weikun presented a pennant to the Non-commissioned Officer School of Hunan Sports Vocational College.
After the military training summary meeting, a grand opening ceremony was held.
Ten freshmen's representatives made a thematic speech on "Youth follow the Party, I devote to the great rejuvenation of the nation". Student representative Zhao Jiacheng (one of the Most Beautiful College Student in Hunan Province, a student in the 2003 class of Radio, Film and Television Program Production of the School of Journalism and Communication) and teacher representative Chen Shuai (a teacher of the Ideological and Political Department) delivered speeches. They expressed their blessings to the students and hoped that they would always have light in their eyes, love in their hearts, and dreams in mind, run with dreams, live up to their youth, and study hard for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Party Secretary Yuan Weikun delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. On behalf of the college, he extended welcome and congratulations to 3,350 new students from 29 provinces, and expressed concern for more than a hundred students who have been in quarantine and delayed their registration due to the epidemic. In his speech, Yuan Weikun put forward several hopes to all freshmen: First, use ideals and beliefs to illuminate the road to the future, so that youth will never get lost. Second, use hard work to pave the way for growth, and let youth not lie flat. Third, "develop five educations simultaneously" and balance the road of development, so that youth will not stuck in involution. At the end of the speech, Yuan hopes that all freshmen can uphold the school motto of "Creativity lights up your life", adhere to the college spirit of "spreading positive energy", promote the school ethos of "respecting morality and energy, keeping integrity and innovation", and integrate into the study style of "being virtuous and knowledgeable, unifying knowledge and action", and grow into a qualified builder and reliable successor of socialism.
