On the morning of June 11, the college held the 6th Session of the Fifth Faculty and Trade Union Members’ Representative Conference. 121 representatives of faculty and staff members and trade union members shouldered the trust of the faculty and staff of the college, gathering together to discuss its development. The leadership of the College Yuan Weikun, Ma Yujun, Liu Guoqing, Jiang Minquan, Cheng Guizhen, Xu Jingxue, Lei Junlin, and Xie Jingwei attended the conference. Vice president Lei Junlin served as the host and representatives of retired comrades were specially invited to sit in on the meeting.

The conference kicked off with the solemn national anthem, and then Xu Jingxue, member of the Party committee and vice president, delivered an opening speech. Ma Yujun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of HNMMC, delivered a 2020 administrative work report entitled Seize the Opportunity to draw a Blueprint, strive to open a New Ground First, and open the New Journey of the College's "14th Five-Year Plan" Development in all Respects to the conference. In the report, Ma Yujun made an overall summary and retrospected the college’s achievements last year in the "three-all education", education and teaching, talent training, enrollment and employment, scientific research services, internal governance, international exchanges, campus culture, environment quality of the campus, and improving the happiness index of teachers and students. He stated the key points of the college's administrative work in 2021. Ma Yujun pointed out that the overall idea of the college’s work in 2021 will be guided by Xi Jinping’s thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and earnestly implement the state and Hunan Province’s series of vocational education reform deployments by adhering to and strengthening the party’s overall leadership, fully implementing the Party’s educational policy and the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating.Setting high-qulity development as the theme, running a school at a high level as the goal, the “three-all education” comprehensive reform pilot work as the focus, we must develop an overall planning on the constructions of professional (group), teaching staff, governance capacity, campus culture, infrastructure, etc. to consolidate and expand the results of epidemic prevention and control and construction development. Rooted in media, highlighting characteristics, we put a great efforts to cultivate highly skilled, applied and creative talents with comprehensive development of virtue, intelligence, physical conditions, mind status and community service, contributing to the construction of vocational education highland in Hunan and the implementation of the "three highs and four news" so as to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party with outstanding outcomes. The first is to make a scientific plan for future development and strive to improve the level of running a school. The second is to boost the ideological and political education and implement the fundamental tasks of strengthen moral education and cultivate people. The third is to accelerate the adjustment of professional layout and improve the quality of talent training. The fourth is to reinforce the construction of teacher ethics and style for building a high-qualified teachers’ team. The fifth is to continuously intensify the integration of industry and education, and drive the school-enterprise cooperation with innovation. The sixth is to improve internal governance capabilities by deepening educational evaluation reform. Ma Yujun emphasized that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the beginning of the "14th Five-Year Plan", and a crucial year for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and embarking on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. We must thoroughly study the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on Hunan’s inspection, meet the requirements of the National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan, led by the Vocational Education Quality Enhancement Action Plan (2020-2023) deployment to reach the undergraduate level vocational education standards. Carrying forward the spirit of "three oxen", we must improve the quality of creative cultural media talents by innovating, strengthening moral education and cultivating people to make new and greater contributions to the implementation of Hunan's "three highs and four news" strategy and the modernization construction of new Hunan.

Liu Guoqing, deputy secretary of the Party committee and chairman of the Trade Union, on behalf of the fifth Trade Union Committee, presented the 2020 Report on Trade Union Work entitled Gather strengths to perform duties, unite and mobilize faculty and staff to serve for the overall situation of the reform and development of the college. In the report, Liu made a comprehensive summary on the achievements by the committee in the past year in terms of the political position of the union’s cadres, the ideological and political leadership of the employees, the democratic management functions and roles of the employees, the maintenance of the legitimate rights and interests of the employees, the care for the physical and mental life of the employees, and the improvement of the spiritual and cultural quality of employees, and put forward the main ideas of the college's union work in 2021.
The leadership of the college participated in the group discussions of the delegations, who have meticulously discussed and reviewed the above reports and actively contributed valuable ideas and suggestions on all aspects of the college's work.

At the closing ceremony, Yuan Weikun, secretary of the Party committee of the college, delivered a speech. On behalf of the Party committee, he extended warm congratulations on the success of the conference, and heartfelt gratitude to all the representatives and all staff for their hard work. He also extended his high respect and sincere greetings to all faculty and staff who serve the front line of teaching, scientific research, and management and services and to the retired comrades who always concern about the development of the college.Yuan pointed out that this conference is of great significance for that it was held during the critical period of implementing the national and provincial vocational education reform implementation plan, conducting the plan of vocational education quality improvement action, carrying forward the past and opening a new chapter, and forging ahead to create a chapter of glory. He put forward five opinions on the construction and development of the college: First, the entire college must establish a concept of the overall situation and obtain a common understanding of high-quality development. Second, all staff must strengthen the sense of ownership and bring together a strong joint force for high-quality development. Third, everyone must carry forward a down-to-earth attitude to lay a solid foundation for high-quality development. Fourth, the college must inspire people’s innovation and courage so as to accumulate a strong force for high-quality development. Fifth, we must enhance the ability to solve problems and speed up the progress of high-quality development. Yuan stressed that each of us was a pioneer, builder, and witness of the high-quality development of the college. We must closely combine our lofty goals and visions with practices and hard work, making more comprehensive preparations to achieve better results. With a strong perseverance and willpower, we will be capable of tackling all challenges, forging ahead, and striving to build a more brilliant tomorrow for the college.
