On June 10, the 2021 National Vocational College Skills Competition "Mobile Application Development Competition" came to an end at Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology. It was jointly sponsored by 36 ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Education, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Shandong Provincial People's Government. Our student Peng Haicun, under the guidance of teacher Yi Can, majoring in Mobile Internet Application Technology of the School of the New Media Technology, won the third prize on behalf of the Hunan Provincial team in the competition.

This skill competition welcomed the contestants from more than 30 provinces and autonomous regions across the country. All of them have undergone selections and competitions in university and provincial levels, and provincial training trials to win the qualification for the national competitions as provincial representative teams. The competition lasted three days and its content covered the entire process of software project development such as demand analysis, prototype design, software coding, testing and deployment. The winners of the competition must have excellent comprehensive quality in software development.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Mobile Internet Application Technology Specialty in the School of New Media Technology has always adhered to the integrated teaching mode of "competition-training-learning". It has applied advanced experience to practical teaching, promoting teaching and learning by competition. Recent years have witnessed numerous gratifying results by the school. Students got one national second prize, one national third prize, six provincial first prizes, twelve provincial second and third prizes in the category A competition items of mobile internet application software development, big data technology and application, artificial intelligence technology and application, information security management and evaluation and others, and one first prize, five second and third prizes in the national category B competitions.
