On May 23rd afternoon, the 15th Eyas Cup DV contest for College Students awards ceremony, hosted by our college and the School of Journalism and Communication, was held in the Experimental Theatre. Leaders including Yuan Weikun, Ma Yujun, Qi Renjie, Liu Guoqing, Jiang Jianliang, Xu Jingxue and Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee Xu Kejing, attended the ceremony and presented prizes to the winners.

              

    The contest, which lasted for two months, has received a total of 103 entries in and outside our college. Evaluated by the expert review group and the Internet voting, one entry named the Silent Boy won the first prize of documentary works; another entry named Fire won the first prize of non-documentary works. Just Be It, Changsha, Loan Price and other 7 works won the individual awards; one works from Hengyang Normal University named I Come from the Mountain won the special award of the committee.

             

    As a traditional school event, The DV Contest for College Students has been successfully held for fourteen sessions since 2003. It has been developed from the initial micro video contest into a DV culture and Art Festival containing DV forum, excellent works exhibition and excellent works sharing. Not only a large number of high-qualified media talents has been cultivated with many excellent video works, but also students from more than 10 universities and vocational schools has been attracted with active engagement. The DV culture and Art Festival has been a wonderful stage for our college to spread spirit of the age and positive energy to society.
