On the afternoon of December 20, the opening ceremony of 2020 Hunan Provincial Skills Competition of Vocational Colleges was held in the Lecture Hall. Present at the ceremony were Peng Fuqiang, the first deputy director appointed by the provincial Party committee and vice president of Hunan Communication Polytechnic, Li Donghai, investigator of Human Resource Office of Hunan Radio and Television Bureau, and Lei Junlin, vice president of the college. Moreover, the opening ceremony was witnessed by over 300 people, including leaders of the organizers, relevant personnel of the contest center unit, team leaders and , representatives of the chief referee, instructors and contestants.
Vice president Lei Junlin addressed at the opening ceremony that vocational skills contest was a major institutional design and innovation in vocational education in China. It was a concrete practice of the implementation of "carrying forward the spirit of labor model and craftsmen to building a knowledgeable, skilled and innovative army of laborer" remarked by general secretary. It was an implementation of the important deployment of the decision on technical talents team construction by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council. It was critical path to carry out the new idea and spirit of modern vocational education and promote the reform of the "teachers, teaching materials and methods" in order to improve teaching quality. As the organizer, we would provide high-quality and high-level services, creating favorable conditions for the competition to ensure that the contest would be conducted in a safe and well-organized way.
Peng Fuqiang delivered a speech and elaborated on the significance of the reform and development of vocational education as strategy of the country to promote future economic and social development and participate in international competition under the background of the Implementation of National Vocational Education Reform. Peng emphasized that Vocational College Skills Competition was not only the best platform for students’ vocational skills presentation and evaluation, but also an effective way to quickly improve students' skills. Nearly 12 years of development has built the competition into an effective carrier for vocational colleges to promote in-depth integration of industry and education and to innovate talent training mode. It has become a basic system for testing and evaluating skills teaching level and talent cultivation quality in vocational colleges. In the end, he wished the competition a success and all contestants obtain excellent results.

The competition is jointly sponsored by Hunan Provincial Radio and Television Bureau and the Education Department of Hunan, and undertaken by our college. 402 contestants from 44 colleges and universities in Hunan will compete in the next two days for animation production, high vocational technology application of mobile convergence media and micro-video production.
