August 24 and 25, Xie Jingwei, member of the college's Party committee and Vice President, led a team of teachers from the School of New Media Technology to visit the needy students in Shaoyang city, helping solve practical problems in their study and life, and conveying the care of the school's Party committee and administration.

In the home of Chen Jiarong, a student in Shashi Town, Shaodong County, Xie Jingwei and his team learned that she has overcome the difficulties and achieved excellent academic performance since she passed the secondary vocational counterpart examination and was admitted to study Digital Media Technology specialty. They encouraged her to be more optimistic and take active participation in skills competition for students majoring in digital media technology, so as to promote learning through competition and contribute more to her family with higher-level professional skills.

At Zhou Zhenkun’s home, Xie Jingwei and his entourage conveyed greetings and sent supplies to him. Known more about Zhou's performance at school and at home, they encouraged him to make better use of the state and school's scholarship, grants, subsidy and loan policies, bravely encounter temporary difficulties, and strengthen communication and mutual assistance with classmates. Through active participation in professional internships and social practice, he would be able to enhance his comprehensive quality and ability, and take family responsibilities with more proactive actions.

Throughout this home visits, Xie Jingwei emphasized that the counselors, full-time teachers, and the person in charge of the general Party branch of the School of New Media Technology should go into the classrooms and student apartments more often to know about the students’ actual difficulties, and comprehensively apply national policies and the college’s support to promote the development of students in poor family conditions, so as to help them grow into talents in a more effective way. In consequence, teachers would fulfill the responsibility and mission of the teachers to educate people for the Party and the country with practical actions.
