On the morning of Feb. 20, HNMMC held the opening ceremony of Effective Coaching Educator(ECE) Training. The theme of the training was "practice professional skills and improve abilities to be an excellent mentor for students". The relevant persons in charge of the Student Affairs Division, the secretaries of the Party General Branches of each secondary school, and all full-time and part-time counselors attended the training.

Peng Tao, Director of Student Affairs Division, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that counselors are the key factor to determine the effectiveness of the work on student affairs, thus the college attaches great importance to the construction of counselor team. He put forward three requirements and expectations for the counselors participating in the training: firstly, to seize the training opportunity and complete this learning task with high quality; secondly, to do a good job on the work planning at the beginning of the year and systematically design the growth path of counselors; thirdly, to strengthen team communication and exchange and strive for the ideological and political work brand in the new era.

"It's my 7th year since I was engaged in counselor work. In my opinion, counselors are the people with faith, warmth and methodicalness," said Li Dianman, a full-time counselor of the School of Journalism and Communication, spoke as a representative of counselors. She thanked the college for the training opportunity and determined that she would cherish this rare learning opportunity, and strive to have attains and put it into practice.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Ren Chunmei, Deputy Director of Student Affairs Division of HNMMC. The three-day training included six sections: overview of effective coaching educator, goal management, motivation enhancement, resource mining, action promotion and integration application, and was given by Chen Shangfei, senior trainer of Beisen Career Education Co., Ltd..
