On the afternoon of October 29th, Lu Xin, the chairman of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and the former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, visited HNMMC to guide the work and gave a report on the theme of "New Majors in a New Stage". Presented at the report meeting were Wang Guishu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and Vice Director of the Secretary Group of the Provincial Party Committee Education Work Leading Group, Yu Weiliang, director of the Vocational Education and Adult Education Division of the Hunan Provincial Education Department, Party Committee Secretary of HNMMC Yuan Weikun and President Ma Yujun, and other leaders of the College, middle-level cadres, and teachers of secondary schools. More than 300 main leaders from 33 peer vocational colleges in Changsha attended the meeting. The report was hosted by Party Secretary Yuan Weikun.
In the special report, Lu Xin started with General Secretary Xi Jinping's leadership of innovation-driven development, targeting at the new stage of national development during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and covering the core technology list, digital infrastructure trends, and 5G industry application scenarios. She went over the connotation and tasks of the new professions, proposed new ideas for professional upgrading and digital transformation, analyzed expert opinions by the latest cases and shared expert resources, deeply interpreting the goals and positioning of modern vocational education in the new development stage.She emphasized that modern vocational education should be based on the second centenary goal, connecting with the construction of a modern country, high-quality development, high-end manufacturing to promote the adaptation of higher education structure to industrial structure. Great efforts should be made to build a skilled talents training system that connects the middle and high schools students, undergraduates and postgraduates so as to provide a large number of high-end technical and skilled talents in the front line of production and service for China’s mid-to-high-end manufacturing industry, making contributions of vocational education to the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
After the report, Lu Xin came to the program production base jointly built by HNMMC and Hunan Broadcasting System, inspected the 1,400 square meter studio and 400 square meter studio. She also asked about how to integrate student training and teacher practice into program production and gave a high recognition to innovative college-enterprise cooperation system through the dual education pattern of "introducing TV station into college and teaching".
