On the afternoon of December 5, the national finals of the first AI-Assisted Digital Character Innovative Design Category, part of the 2025 “Belt and Road” and BRICS Skill Development and Technology Innovation Competition, was grandly opened at our college. Nearly one hundred contestants from across the country, representing four categories — teacher, higher vocational, undergraduate, and secondary vocational — gathered in Changsha to take part in this event that integrates AI technology with digital creativity.
The competition was co‑hosted by the Chinese Council of the BRICS Business Council, the Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development International Alliance, and other organizations, and co‑organized by Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College and other institutions.
At the opening ceremony, representatives of the competition organizing committee, industry experts, and leaders of our college delivered speeches. Mr. He Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the college, announce the opening of the competition. Shen Jianfei, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the college, stated that as a co‑organizer, the college would fully leverage its professional advantages in digital media and artificial intelligence, go all out to ensure event organization and service support, and strive to create a fair, just, and professional competition environment for all contestants.
Focusing on “AI‑Assisted Digital Character Innovative Design”,this competition closely followed the frontier of integrated development of AI and digital content creation, and precisely aligned with the advanced needs of the digital transformation of the cultural industry. It is not only a window for young talents in China’s digital creative field to showcase their skills but also a vivid practice of our college’s Digital Media Art and Design program cluster in deepening industry‑education integration and promoting skills cooperation and people‑to‑people exchanges with Belt and Road and BRICS countries.
During the upcoming competition, contestants will engage in fierce competition, demonstrating the innovative vitality and professional excellence of skilled talents in the digital era. It is expected that through this competition, the application of AI technology in the digital creative industry will be further advanced, more interdisciplinary and internationally oriented high‑quality skilled talents will be cultivated for the industry, and youthful energy will be injected into the construction of a skilled and strong country in the new era.
