On December 15, the “Chinese + Digital Media Art and Design” International Training Program, hosted by our college, came to a successful end. This training program, which used digital media art as a bridge and integrated Hunan cultural experiences with vocational skills practice, attracted 23 faculty and students from Villa College in the Maldives. The 14‑day in‑depth training and cultural exchange built a bridge of learning and friendship across mountains and seas for the youth of the two countries.

The training program emphasized a dual‑track integration of “cultural experience + digital creation.” Participants visited Yuelu Academy to appreciate the Chinese cultural heritage, toured China Software Park to learn about cutting‑edge developments in “culture + technology,” and engaged in hands‑on activities such as intangible cultural heritage Chinese knot flower making and AI short video creation, transforming Hunan cultural elements into vivid digital artworks. During the program, participants experienced many unforgettable “firsts”: tasting Hunan cuisine, trying Chinese character rubbing, learning Tai Chi, performing the dragon dance, and learning to sing the Chinese folk song Jasmine Flowerfor the first time. These unique cultural experiences formed their deep memories of Hunan.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Xie Jingwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, expressed warm congratulations to all participants on the successful completion of the program. He said, “You are not only cultural experiencers but also ambassadors of friendship.” He fully recognized the participants’ practical achievements in telling the stories of Changsha through their lenses, embodying the friendship between the two countries in pottery art, and empowering digital art with a youthful perspective. He hoped that the participants would bring back to their own country the Hunan spirit of “daring to be the first” along with their digital art skills, becoming youth ambassadors for promoting China‑Maldives cultural exchange and digital art cooperation.

At the ceremony, the participants presented the works they had created during the training, performed Maldivian traditional dances, and sang Chinese songs, expressing their sincere gratitude to ourcollege for its meticulous organization of the training program. This program vividly illustrated the beautiful vision of mutual cultural learning and shared friendship between the two countries.
