Faculty and Students from the School of New Media Technology Win Two Second Prizes in the National XR Virtual Production Technology Competition

Recently, the national finals of the Second XR Virtual Production (Film and Television) Production TechnologyCategory of the 2025 “Belt and Road” and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition, came to a successful conclusion. Faculty and student teams from the School of New Media Technologydelivered outstanding performances and won two second prizes.The team of Teacher Zhou Yanmei, Teacher Zhu Liang, and Teacher Yuan Ailan won the second prize in the faculty group, while the team of Hu Yang, from Class 2401 of the Virtual Reality Technology Application program, Chen Zike, from Class 2303 of the Digital Media Technology program, and Cao Wenrui, from Class 2403 of the Digital Media Technology program, won the second prize in the student group. Teacher Yuan Ailan and Teacher Xie Jiao were awarded the title of Outstanding Instructor, and the faculty team of the School of New Media Technology also received the Excellent Organization Award.

This competition, which focused on core technical competencies such as AIGC intelligent content generation, UE virtual scene production, and integrated production management, comprehensively tested the practical application level of XR virtual production technology in film and television creation. Under the guidance of professional faculty, our student team fully participated in the entire process from content ideation to technical implementation, demonstrating solid foundational skills and innovative capabilities in the fields of XR virtual reality and digital media. This achievement not only reflects the college’s significant strengths in teaching XR virtual production and AIGC technology but also reflects the positive outcomes of interdisciplinary talent cultivation in the virtual reality and digital media art and design program clusters.
