On January 20th, the final round of the Second Hunan Provincial University Mental Health Education Compulsory Course Teaching Competition concluded. Wang Fei, a faculty member of the college, stood out among 86 participating universities and colleges across the province with her solid teaching design, vivid classroom presentation, and innovative teaching practices, ranking 8th overall and winning a second prize. In addition, the college received the “Excellent Organization Award”, marking a “zero-to-one breakthrough” for the college in this competition.
This competition was highly competitive, and the college attached great importance to the preparation work. President He Zhanbing and Vice President Zhu Dan personally made arrangements, provided full‑process guidance, and ensured comprehensive support for the competition. The Student Affairs Department and the School of New Media Technology coordinated closely to quickly form a cross‑departmental, cross‑disciplinary teaching team for the competition. Focusing on the psychological development characteristics and actual needs of higher vocational students, the team integrated information‑based teaching methods with mental health education content, striving to enhance the relevance and appeal of classroom instruction. Pooling collective wisdom, they laid a solid foundation for this breakthrough in the competition.
This award is a concentrated reflection of the college’s continuous efforts to advance mental health education curriculum reform and improve teaching quality. The college has always adhered to the principle of “integrating moral education with mental health education”, fully embedding mental health education into the talent cultivation system. Going forward, the Mental Health Education and Counseling Center and the Mental Health Education Teaching and Research Office, both under the Student Affairs Department, will continue to uphold the philosophy of “promoting teaching, research, and development through competition”. They will further deepen teaching reform, strengthen faculty development, and effectively enhance the quality of mental health education courses, thereby building a solid psychological foundation for the comprehensive growth of students.
