
On February 4th, the opening ceremony of the 2026 “Chuyi Cup” Hunan Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition, hosted at the Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College competition venue, was held in the college’s Academic Lecture Hall. A total of 662 contestants from 77 institutions across the province competed in two higher vocational group events: Environmental Art Design and Short Video Creation and Operation.
At the opening ceremony, He Zhanbing, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, delivered the opening speech. Lei Chaoyang, the provincial‑appointed First Deputy Director of the competition venue, attended and spoke. Other attendees included Yu Yitao, provincial‑appointed discipline supervisor; the competition expert group leaders; provincial‑appointed event coordinators; representatives of participating contestants; and representatives of guiding teachers. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Shen Jianfei.

On behalf of the college, He Zhanbing extended a warm welcome to the attending leaders, experts, judges, team leaders, guiding teachers, and contestants. He introduced the college’s basic profile and educational characteristics. He noted that vocational skills competitions are a key driver for program development, deepening teaching reform, and promoting industry‑education integration. The college will provide high‑quality, high‑level services and support to create favorable conditions for the competition, and will take this opportunity to further deepen industry‑education integration and college‑enterprise cooperation, vigorously promote the spirit of craftsmanship and model work ethic, and endeavor to cultivate skilled artisans and Hunan craftsmen.

Lei Chaoyang pointed out that vocational college skills competitions have become an important institutional design for accelerating the reform and development of modern vocational education, as well as a significant platform for vocational college teachers and students to show their talents, improve teaching, enhance their qualities, and achieve growth. He stated that Hunan achieved remarkable results in the 2025 World Vocational College Skills Competition, which fully demonstrated the solid knowledge foundation, excellent skills, and strong innovative abilities of Hunan students. He expressed the hope that the competition would serve as a medium to carry forward the “Chuyi Spirit” and serve as a talent cornerstone to set a benchmark for Hunan vocational education.


It is reported that the 2026 Hunan Provincial Vocational College Skills Competition is divided into two phases, featuring 71 competition venues and 112 events, with more than 11,000 students registered to participate. The college has hosted provincial skills competitions for many consecutive years, receiving praise from other institutions and all sectors of society. As the “Double High-level Plan”constriction unit, the college has established a competition working leadership group and task force to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the competition. Several rounds of seminars, mobilization meetings, and deployment meetings have been held, and relevant staff have received training and guidance to ensure the successful conduct of the event.
