Recently, the “2025–2026 Hunan–Hong Kong Youth Friendship” exchange activity for Hunan teachers and students visiting Hong Kong was successfully concluded. The activity was promoted by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, co‑organized by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Hong Kong Youth Development Commission, and undertaken by the Hunan Provincial Education International Exchange Association. After a rigorous selection process, He Xiaojing, a student from the School of Journalism and Communication, represented the college and joined young students from 30 universities in Hunan Province on a seven‑day cultural visit and exchange study in Hong Kong.

This exchangeactivity aimed to deepen mutual understanding and trust between Hunan and Hong Kong youth, and to promote cultural integration and youth development. During the exchange, the delegation visited renowned universities such as the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong, experiencing firsthand the “biliteracy and trilingualism” teaching environment and academic atmosphere. They engaged in in‑depth dialogues with Hong Kong teachers and students on topics such as discipline construction and learning practices. In addition, the delegation visited the elderly home at Zhanshan Temple and participated in social service practices. Through artistic performances, they conveyed care and warmth, demonstrating the social responsibility and humanistic qualities of mainland youth.

He Xiaojing performed outstandingly during the exchange. She fully leveraged her expertise in media studies, capturing the journey with her camera. The documentary short video she produced was vivid and well‑received by both teachers and students, earning her an “Outstanding Volunteer” certificate from the association. Her performance showcased the solid professional skills and positive spirit of our students.

This activity provided a valuable platform for interaction between Hunan and Hong Kong youth. Through seven days of shared learning and practice, students from the two sides enhanced mutual understanding and built friendships through cultural exchange and intellectualcommunication. Our students actively participated in and performed well, which not only promoted their personal growth but also demonstrated the effectiveness of the college’s education. Hunan and Hong Kong share the same roots and emotional bonds. The college will continue to support students in engaging in various exchange programs, broaden their horizons, strengthen their cultural confidence, and strive to cultivate more outstanding talents with a sense of national pride and an international perspective, thereby contributing youthful energy to the development of the Greater Bay Area and the nation’s progress.
