On March 25th, the first “Leadership Reception Day” of the Spring Semester 2026 was held in Room 304 of the library. Vice President Cheng Guizhen presided over the event. Heads of the Security Department, the Logistics and Infrastructure Department, the Administration School, and other relevant departments attended the meeting to listen to the demands of faculty and students face to face and to propose on‑site solutions and implementation deadlines.
In terms of service and support, student representatives from the School of New Media Technology raised the issue of aging facilities in teaching buildings. Regarding the worn‑out seats on the fifth floor of Teaching Building A and the water leakage on the roofs of the fifth‑floor classrooms and restrooms in Buildings A and D, the logistics department will organize a professional team for inspection and repair, which is expected to be completed within one week. For classrooms with severe leakage, a fast‑track repair channel has been opened to ensure immediate response. Faculty representative Xiao Haiying reported multiple leaks on the top floors of Apartments A, B, C, D, J, and F in Zone 2, where temporary repairs have proven insufficient. The logistics department stated that a flat‑to‑pitched roof renovation project will be carried out during the summer vacation to fundamentally solve the leakage problem.
In terms of education and teaching, student representatives from the School of Management quoted the saying, “A craftsman who wishes to do his work well must first sharpen his tools”, and pointed out that the software systems in the training labs are outdated, failing to meet the needs of professional practice. They suggested an urgent update and also hoped that the college would invite more industry experts and outstanding alumni to share their experiences and provide practical training, thereby increasing the proportion of case‑based teaching. The head of the School reflected that they has been paying close attention to this issue and is accelerating the process of upgrading training lab hardware. Vice President Cheng Guizhen requested the School to intensify cooperation with enterprises, ensuring that two or three sessions of enterprise expert visits are organized each semester to help students better understand the latest industry trends.
In terms of rights protection, student representatives reported that mobile vendors on Bancang Road were occupying the road for business, seriously affecting traffic order and travel safety. The Security Department responded that a joint governance mechanism has been activated, and the situation has been reported to the local urban management and traffic authorities. Subsequent measures will include increasing the frequency of traffic police patrols, installing road barriers, and registering vendor information, using multiple approaches to regulate road order.

Cheng Guizhen emphasized that campus safety and student health are the foundations for students’ growth and success. She urged everyone to enhance risk awareness, proactively identify and report potential safety hazards, and cultivate good living habits and take care of their own health.
This “Leadership Reception Day” event successfully built a platform for direct, face‑to‑face communication between the college leadership and faculty and students, addressing students’ concerns in a timely manner and conveying the college’s deep care and warmth for its students. The college will continue to optimize campus management, improve service quality, so as to create a better environment for students’ growth and success.
