On December 6, the First International Symposium on Digital-Intelligent Creativity in Vocational Education, a sub-forum of the High-Quality Development Conference on Digital Imaging Industry-Education Integration themed “Digital Media Empowered by Intelligence, Innovation Fostering New Talents”, was successfully held in Changsha. The event was hosted by the China Imaging & Media Industry-Education Integration Community and the Hunan Cultural Industry Vocational Education Group, with HNMMC serving as the organizer.

The symposium, themed “Sailing Digital Media, Advancing Vocational Education – Promoting High-Quality Internationalization of Digital Media Vocational Education”, focused on the digital media sector and aimed to build a platform connecting Chinese enterprises with vocational institutions in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting deep integration between talent supply and industry demand. Representatives from the education sector of partner countries, industry experts, leaders of Chinese enterprises abroad, and officials from Chinese vocational colleges attended the symposium.

In his opening remarks, Xie Jingwei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee at HNMMC, highlighted that the college is leveraging its two program clusters—digital media technology and digital media art design—to integrate AI, virtual reality, and other digital technologies into teaching, upgrading talent cultivation toward a balance of digital intelligence literacy and creative capability. He emphasized that the internationalization of vocational education is not only about exporting skills, but also about jointly building standards and facilitating cultural exchange. HNMMC is committed to sharing resources and co-constructing ecosystems with global partners, promoting the shift from simply “going out” to deeply “embedding in” international vocational education, and supporting the development of youth worldwide.

Avis Muhammad, Chinese Secretary-General of the China-Pakistan Digital Education Alliance, introduced opportunities for cooperation in Pakistan’s vocational education sector. Ma Yuehan, Chinese Director of the Chinese Language Center at Villa College, Maldives, shared practices and reflections on promoting vocational education internationalization through the “Chinese + vocational skills” model. Representatives from enterprises such as Shanghai Boke City and Xingyun Group offered insights on the cultivation of digital media talent based on overseas experiences.

During the roundtable discussion, representatives from over ten domestic and international institutions—including Elemente Music and Performing Arts Training Institute (Malaysia), Tianjin University of Technology and Education, Shanghai Nanhu Vocational & Technical College, Guizhou Media Vocational & Technical College, and Shaanxi Vocational & Technical College—together with industry experts, explored pathways for building an international resource database for the digital media art design program cluster. Discussions focused on deeply integrating curriculum systems and teaching standards with the Belt and Road industry needs to lay the foundation for systematic international deployment of vocational education resources.

The symposium highlighted enterprise needs and promoted integration between industry and education as well as international cooperation in vocational education. HNMMC will continue to build bridges for international dialogue between colleges and enterprises, contributing knowledge and solutions to innovative talent cultivation and the development of a global ecosystem for vocational education.
