Recently, the results of the 11th Hunan Youth Culture and Arts Festival were officially announced, with HNMMC students achieving remarkable success across multiple categories. The group dance “Miao Drum Rhythms” by the School of Film and Television Arts (instructors: Li Jiazi and Li Nanxin) won the Silver Award, while the choral piece “To the Clouds” (instructors: Xu Yulan and Chen Yuting) earned the Bronze Award. Meanwhile, the short video “Encounter at Gaoqiao” (instructor: Deng Fangfang) from the School of Journalism and Communication received the Bronze Award in the “I’m the City Ambassador” cultural tourism and technology short video category.
Jointly organized by the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Hunan Youth Federation, and the Hunan Students’ Federation, this year’s festival featured six competition categories: calligraphy, “I’m the City Ambassador” cultural tourism and technology short videos, popular science short videos, group dance, choral performance, and group recitation. The event attracted more than 6,000 participants from 61 regional divisions across the province. Its purpose is to inspire youth creativity, promote diverse cultural expression, and encourage young people to strengthen their ideals and take on the mission of the times.
Following extensive promotion, careful organization, and the provincial semifinal roadshow, HNMMC students stood out among numerous outstanding teams and competitors. Their impressive results not only demonstrate the solid artistic foundation and cultural creativity of HNMMC students but also highlight the college’s long-term commitment to aesthetic education and its efforts to cultivate a new generation of culturally confident and creatively capable young talents.Looking ahead, HNMMC will continue to leverage its strengths as a media college to advance campus culture development, foster an enriching educational environment, and uphold the philosophy of “educating through culture and nurturing through aesthetics”. The college remains dedicated to cultivating more versatile talents for the new era — individuals who combine artistic excellence, broad knowledge, and deep humanistic qualities.
