On the afternoon of September 24, HNMMC held its first "Leadership Reception Day" of the 2025 fall semester, specifically for new students. Xie Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of HNMMC, attended the event along with leaders from the Party and Administrative Office, Academic Affairs Office, Admissions and Employment Office, School-Enterprise Cooperation Office, and the Logistics and Infrastructure Office. They engaged in direct communication with representatives from six of the college's secondary schools, addressing concerns in three key areas: education and teaching, career development, and campus life, offering answers and guidance to help new students start their college journey.

“Innovationin Programs”: Courses Aligned with Industry Needs
The first question came from a student majoring in Broadcasting and Hosting, asking, "Will there be any practical courses added in popular fields like new media live streaming or short video production?" Xie Zhanbing responded by announcing that the college would launch the "AI+Majors" enhancement plan. The curriculum will closely align with industry needs, gradually adding general courses in areas such as language expression, short video creation, and AI applications. Students majoring in Movie and TV Animation asked about balancing "higher education and employment". The head of the Academic Affairs Office presented the "Three-Year Integrated Program" growth roadmap: strengthening the foundation in the first year, entering the NetEase Industry Institute's original art program in the second year, and choosing either the "Undergraduate Sprint Camp" or "Modern Apprenticeship Class" in the third year. For students, both further study and employment are no longer mutually exclusive. This dialogue brightened the eyes of the new students in related majors, and their expressions shifted from slight nervousness to calm anticipation.
"Pre-Positioned Careers": Seamless Internships Leading to Employment
When discussing career development, a new student majoring in Digital Media Technology asked with hopeful eyes, "What high-quality internship opportunities are available for students? How does the college expand its partnerships with leading enterprises?" Xie Zhanbing emphasized that the college was born and strengthened through industry-education integration. It has always been committed to college-enterprise cooperation, providing students with high-quality internship resources. He pointed out that the core of the "Double High" initiative is "high-level teaching ability and high-quality industry-education integration". The college brings real enterprise projects into the classroom, such as the digital content creation project from the NetEase Industry Institute, where students can gain commercial project experience during their time at school. This solid foundation in practical experience will prepare them for job selection and employment three years later. As the discussion continued, the students' faces filled with excitement as they imagined applying their professional skills in real-world projects.

"Problem Solving": No Small Matter Left Unattended
When discussing campus life, students raised practical questions that were quickly addressed. "The toilet door lock on the fifth floor of Building D in Area 2 is broken," and "The light in the fourth unit of Building C in Area 1 is out," were some of the issues raised. The head of the Logistics and Infrastructure Office promptly took out his phone and demonstrated the "Today Campus" app: fill in the area and report the issue → the system assigns the task → the repair person accepts the job. The entire process was clear and visible. By the afternoon of the same day, the door lock had been replaced, the light bulb had been changed, and the sanitation was cleaned—three work orders had been completed with "green" status. Xu, a student from the Class 2501 of the Research Travel Management and Service program, couldn’t help but give a thumbs-up: "The President’s Reception Day fixed the toilet in a 'second'! The efficiency is impressive!" The quick feedback and resolution, along with the platform's one-click repair feature, made the new students feel that even small matters in life are seen as significant by the college.

Finally, Xie Zhanbing encouraged the student representatives of the 2025 class, saying that the "Leadership Reception Day" is a window for the college to listen to students' voices and address practical issues. He hopes that the students will share what they’ve gained with their peers and encourages the new students to solidify their professional foundations, embrace the AI technological revolution, and become capable and responsible media professionals.
This reception, lasting less than two hours, had no lengthy procedures, only sincere communication. The new students came with questions and left with satisfaction. The Leadership Reception Day has become a bridge for communication between the college and new students, offering both professional insights and care for their lives, making the students feel valued by the college. This sense of importance has become the warmest motivation for them to embark on their new campus life.
