HNMMC Held 2025 Fall Semester International Student Opening Ceremony

On the afternoon of September 23, HNMMC held the opening ceremony for the 2025 Fall semester international students, welcoming 11 new international students from seven countries: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Malaysia, Canada, Thailand, and Vietnam. Xie Jingwei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Heads of relevant secondary schools, administrative departments, teaching and research officesof relevant programs, international student counselors, international students’ parents, and all international students participated.

On behalf of the college, Xie Jingwei extended a warm welcome to the international students and their families. He pointed out that China, through the "Belt and Road" initiative, is sharing development opportunities with people from around the world and creating a harmonious and prosperous future together. Students have traveled thousands of miles to study in China, and the college will do its best to create a high-quality learning and living environment for them. At the same time, he expressed his earnest expectations for the international students, encouraging them not only to become "international translators" of Chinese civilization and use their professional expertise to spread the culture of Hunan, but also to act as "ferrymen" of diverse civilizations, allowing the world to hear the voices of different countries and contributing to the promotion of global cultural exchange and integration.

During the opening ceremony, the heads of the Academic Affairs Office and the International Exchange Office provided detailed introductions to the teaching and daily management of international students, helping new students understand various aspects of studying and living on campus. A representative of international students in Academic Education shared their experiences and insights about studying and living in China. New student representative TRAN MINH TIEN SUNNY, drawing on their multicultural background, expressed their eager anticipation of learning Chinese and gaining a deeper understanding of Chinese culture.

As the first higher vocational college in Hunan Province with the qualification to enroll international students, HNMMC has accumulated rich experience in international education. The college adheres to the principle of "stabilizing scale, optimizing structure, standardizing management, and improving quality" in the training of international students. Leveraging its educational characteristics and strong programs, HNMMC has built a talent training system focused on "language foundation, professional empowerment, and cultural integration". In recent years, the college has trained over a hundred students from countries such as Germany, Ecuador, Gambia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, gradually establishing an international education brand with vocational education characteristics.
