
Embracing the golden harvest of October, the “New Era · New Media · New Youth” Digital Creative Design Competition Screening and AwardsCeremony— part of HNMMC’s “One College, One Brand” campus culture series — was grandly held on the afternoon of October 14 at the Comprehensive Training Building. The event was hosted by the Student Affairs Department and the Youth League Committee, and organized by the School of New Media Technology. College leaders He Zhanbing, Zhu Dan, Yang Jinhui, and Shen Jianfei attended the ceremony, along with heads of various secondary schools and departments, and representatives of award-winning teachers and students.
The event began with a spectacular dragon dance performance, “Digital Dragon Dance: A New Chapter of Competition”, followed by a stunning real-time interaction with the holographic digital avatar “Qianyan”. The seamless fusion of tradition and future painted a vivid picture of the boundless possibilities in new media technology.
In his speech, President He Zhanbing highly praised the achievements of the competition. He noted that the entries showcased three key features: deep integration of technology and art, a balanced unity of innovation and practicality, and the harmonious combination of personal growth and teamwork. He also offered three hopes to the students:First, to take responsibility as their “beacon,” aligning personal aspirations with the greater currents of the times;
Second, to regard competence as their “cornerstone,” refining professional skills and cultivating a spirit of craftsmanship;Third, to treat innovation as their “wings,” actively engaging in practice and bravely exploring the unknown.He emphasized that the “One College, One Brand” campus culture initiative is an original IP rooted in HNMMC’s media identity and dedicated to the long-term growth of both faculty and students. It serves as a vivid expression of the college’s cultural spirit and an innovative practice in ideological and political education.
Since its launch in May this year, the competition has revolved around six major themes:“Passing the Torch, Forging the Spirit”, “Promoting Integrity, Upholding Virtue”, “Smart Innovation, Chasing Dreamsin Youth”, “Decoding Emotions, Connecting New Horizons”, “Hearts Linked to Hometowns, Shaping the Future with Digital Innovation”, and “Spreading Civility through Language, Reviving Millennia-Old Characters”. A total of 137 entries were submitted by students across the college. After rigorous professional evaluation, 6 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 19 third prizes, and 27 merit awards were selected. In addition, 18 teachers were honored with the title of “Outstanding Instructor”. College leaders presented the awards amid waves of applause and enthusiasm.
The ceremony interwove creativity and performance, featuring a futuristic runway show “Quantum Mirage”, an impassioned poetry recital “Numbers Speak Youth”, an elegant ethnic dance “The Beating Pomegranate Seeds”, and an AI-generated music video “New Era · New Media · New Youth” inspired by the winning students.
