To advance the development of the Digital Media Art and Design program cluster and deepen the integration of industry and education, on the morning of September 26, member of CPC Committee and vice presidentof HNMMC, Shen Jianfei, led a faculty team to visit the Hunan Museum. They held in-depth discussions with the museum’s CPC committee deputy secretary and vice president, Chen Xuliang, as well as other relevant officials, focusing on the digitalization of cultural heritage, and potential cooperation between the college and the museum.
During the exchange, Shen Jianfei introduced the current development of HNMMC and pointed out that, in the context of rapid digital technological advancements and changes in the traditional media landscape, the college actively responds to the national "Culture + Technology" strategic plan. Leveraging the rich historical and cultural heritage of Hunan, as well as the digital transformation needs of the cultural heritage industry, the college is prioritizing "Digital Cultural Heritage" as a key development direction for its program cluster. He further expressed the college’s desire to deepen cooperation with the Hunan Museum, achieve resource sharing, and promote mutually beneficial outcomes.
Chen Xuliang took the digital simulation project of the Mawangdui Han Tomb silk as a starting point and fully recognized the critical role of digital technology in cultural relic protection and the spread of civilization. He acknowledged that, as a major province for cultural relics, Hunan currently faces the challenge of insufficient representative digital cultural heritage cases. He emphasized that introducing digital talent and strengthening the research on the lively transmission of digital content have become key priorities for Hunan Museum. He expressed a desire to establish a long-term exchange mechanism and a regular cooperation model with HNMMC to jointly promote the innovative development of cultural heritage digitalization.
This exchange established a direct link for HNMMC's Digital Media Art and Design program cluster’s "Digital Cultural Heritage" development direction with industry practices. It also provided new ideas for the Hunan Museum to incorporate digital technology resources and overcome digital development bottlenecks. Both parties reached several cooperative agreements, which will lay a solid foundation for future college-museum resource integration, joint talent training, and collaborative project promotion, helping the culture of Hunan to achieve broader lively transmission and innovative communication through digital technology.
