On behalf of the college, President He Zhanbing extended a warm welcome to all new students and expressed three earnest expectations: to use new media tools for storytelling and treat these devices as the pen and paper for spreading Chinese culture; to cultivate professional skills through practical training, bringing soul to their tools and creating stories that move the world; and to take on the mission of passing the torch by upholding the college motto “Creativity Lights up Your Life” and carrying forward the essence of Chinese civilization with purpose and commitment.

Xie Jingwei read the Decision on the Commendation of Outstanding Freshmen, after which college leaders presented awards to advanced units and excellent instructors.

Zhu Zhou, a faculty representative from the Advertising and Communication program of the School of Management, addressed the freshmen with heartfelt words, encouraging them to become “navigators of the AI era”, to build “connections with warmth”, to cultivate an inner sense of balance and abundance, and to pursue sustainable personal growth. Xiao Kunyi, a 2023 student majoring in Broadcasting and Television Program Production from the School of Journalism and Communication, and Wen Yiting, a 2025 student majoring in Digital Media Art from the School of Visual Arts, delivered speeches as representatives of current students and freshmen respectively.
