On June 16, a delegation of 32 participants from the New Media Management Seminar under the Global Civilization Initiative, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, visited HNMMC for exchange. Xie Jingwei, Deputy Party Secretary of the college, accompanied the delegation throughout the visit.
Led by the student docent team from the Business English major of the School of International Communication, the seminar participants toured the All-media Integrated Training Center. They experienced cutting-edge technologies including the 270-degree panoramic projection system, holographic imaging, and VR virtual studio systems, and examined practical achievements such as the optical motion capture system co-developed by HNMMC and NetEase. The delegation also visited a class in the Radio and Television Program Production major at the School of Journalism and Communication, engaging in in-depth exchanges with faculty and students.
This visit was part of the implementation of President Xi Jinping’s Global Civilization Initiative, aimed at enhancing international communication capabilities through technology sharing and mutual learning. It specifically supports capacity building for developing countries, including Antigua and Barbuda, Bahrain, Grenada, Cuba, Comoros, Erbil (Iraq), Kenya, Turkey, Jordan, and Cambodia. The visit was also covered by media outlets from Kenya and Cambodia.
Since 2017, HNMMC has successfully hosted 14 seminars on media for developing countries, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, training over 460 international participants. This program has become a vital bridge linking the college with the developing world, deepening cooperation in media education, showcasing the achievements of China’s vocational education, and building a platform for cross-civilizational dialogue and mutual learning.
