Good News! HNMMC Faculty and Students Achieved Outstanding Results in the 2024 Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing, and Speaking Competition of Hunan Province

Recently, the results of the 2024 Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing, and Speaking Competition of Hunan Province were officially announced.Faculty and students from our Broadcasting and Hosting program demonstrated solid professional skills and outstanding stage performance, securing 3 first prizes and 2third prizes.

The Chinese Classics Recitation, Writing, and Speaking Competition aims to inherit and promote the excellent Chinese language and culture, enhance the public's spoken and written language application abilities, and foster cultural literacy. The competition consisted of three categories: "Reciting China" (Classics Recitation), "Writing China" (Chinese Character Writing), and "Poetry Teaching China" (Poetry Interpretation). Numerous faculty and students from institutions across the province participated, making the competition highly competitive.

In the "Reciting China" Classics Recitation category, under the guidance of instructor Zou Jing'an, Teacher Lv Xinyan won the First Prize in the Teacher Group with her performance of In That Distant Place. In the Student Group, under the guidance of instructors Hu Gaopei and Lin Qian, students Wen Xueying, Wu Cuilin, Zhang Jinxiang, and Chen Zhanbo won the First Prize with their heartfelt recitation of Who Are the Most Lovable People. Teacher Lv Xinyan also guided student Xu Binrui to win the Third Prize with Ode to the Red Cliff, while Teacher Zhou Yun guided students Zhao Jiaying, Zhang Mengru, Lei Jing, and Quan Kexin to win the Third Prize with their recitation of To the Oak Tree. In the "Poetry Teaching China" Poetry Interpretation category, student Wang Youhua, instructed by Yang Huangjiang, won the First Prize in the Student Group with his unique interpretation of The Reed.

It is worth noting that the First Prize-winning works will represent Hunan Province in the national competition. We look forward to our team preparing for the national competition with higher aspirations, combining professional skills with patriotism, and telling the Chinese story with artistic brilliance.

These achievements not only recognize the professional quality of the participating faculty and students but also affirm the effectiveness of HNMMC’s Broadcasting and Hosting program in nurturing talent. The college will continue to foster an educational ecosystem that promotes "teaching and learning through competitions", transforming the results of such events into powerful momentum for deepening educational reforms, and providing strong support for cultivating media talents rooted in Chinese culture with an international perspective in the new era.
