Recently, the Chinese International Education Foundation announced the list of "the Excellent Confucius Institutes in Media Engagement of 2024", with a total of 61 Confucius Institutes from around the world receiving this honor. Among them, the Chinese Language Center at Villa College in the Maldives—jointly established by our college and Chang’an University—was awarded the title of "The Excellent Confucius Institute in Media Engagement of 2024".
In 2024, the Villa College Chinese Language Center actively carried out Chinese language teaching, organized a variety of cultural events, and documented and shared its growth and achievements through platforms such as WeChat Official Accounts and video channels. These efforts vividly showcased the center's teaching strengths and cultural promotion outcomes, making a positive contribution to building a strong image of Confucius Institutes and enhancing the global influence of the Confucius Institute brand.
This recognition is a testament to the center's achievements and a high affirmation from the Chinese International Education Foundation. It also highlights the remarkable progress our college has made in the joint construction and management of Confucius Institutes. Looking ahead, our college will continue to leverage its strengths as a media-focused institution to support the Villa College Chinese Language Center in making full use of new media platforms, deepening its commitment to Chinese language education and cultural exchange, and contributing to further to the promotion of Chinese language and intercultural communication.
