On March 21, the opening ceremony of the 2025 "Chuyi Cup" Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges (HNMMC competition site) was grandly held at the Academic Lecture Hall of HNMMC. A total of 455 contestants from 60 vocational colleges across the province are competing in three categories: Environmental Art Design, Digital Product Design and Development, and Integrated Media Content Planning and Production.

At the opening ceremony, Li Sanfu, Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee, delivered the opening speech. Yu Ranyuan, First Deputy Director of the provincial competition site, attended and addressed the audience. Also present at the ceremony were the chief experts of the contest items, provincial representatives in charge of the events, as well as representatives of the contestants and instructors. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President Shen Jianfei.

On behalf of the college, Li Sanfu extended a warm welcome to all attending leaders, experts, judges, team leaders, instructors, and contestants. He introduced the college's development and distinctive strengths, emphasizing that skills competitions are key drivers for the high-quality development of vocational education and improvement of talent cultivation. He pledged that the college would fulfill its duties as host with dedication, ensuring high-quality and high-standard support and services. He also expressed hope that the event would serve as a catalyst for integrating craftsmanship, innovation, and professional ethics into teaching, thereby enhancing new mechanisms and initiatives for learning and teaching through competitions, and cultivating master craftsmen and cultural talents to contribute to Hunan’s economic and social development.

Yu Ranyuan noted that skills competitions for vocational colleges have become an important institutional mechanism to accelerate the reform and development of modern vocational education. They serve as a significant platform for vocational college teachers and students to showcase talent, improve teaching quality, enhance competence, and achieve personal growth. He highlighted Hunan's impressive achievements in the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition, which showcased the solid academic foundation, outstanding skills, and strong innovation of Hunan students. He expressed hope that this competition would further promote the "Chuyi Spirit", help identify and train more outstanding talents, and build Hunan into a benchmark for vocational education.

HNMMC has hosted provincial-level skills competitions for several consecutive years and has earned consistent praise from peer institutions and the wider community. To ensure the smooth organization of this year's event, the college established a competition leadership team and working groups, convened several rounds of seminars, mobilization meetings, and planning sessions, and provided training and guidance for relevant personnel.
