Good News! Our College's Love Reading Studio Selected as a “Distinguished Teacher's Excellent Reading Case” in the Ministry of Education's “Classic China” Themed Reading Initiative

Recently, the National Language Commission Office and the Department of Language Application and Administration of the Ministry of Education released the "Notice on the Announcement of the List of Innovative Practical Cases for the 'Classic China' Themed Reading Initiative". Our college's Love Reading Studio has been successfully selected as a "Distinguished Teacher’s Excellent Reading" case in the initiative, making it the only selected case from Hunan Province.

Since its launch in October 2024, the initiative has been open to schools and related institutions across the country for case submissions. After expert review and recommendations, a total of 103 innovative practical cases were selected, including 31 "Classic China" Themed Reading Model Schools, 52 "Classic China" Themed Reading Practice Brands, and 20 "Distinguished Teacher's Excellent Reading" cases. Recommended by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, the case submitted by our Love Reading Studio, "Deepening the 'Layered Reading' Cultural Education Model to Shape Students' Advanced Cultural Foundation", received unanimous recognition from the expert reviewers of the National Language Commission.

Established in 2015, the Love Reading Studio traces its origins to an extracurricular reading interest group founded by Professor Tang Chenghua of our college in 2009. For 15 consecutive years, the studio has been guiding students in extracurricular reading. Focused on cultivating students through culture and literature, the studio fosters positive values through reading, encouraging students to enhance their cultural literacy, enrich their inner selves, and strengthen their cultural confidence. Given the unique nature of media talent development, the Love Reading Studio continuously explores the "Layered Reading" cultural education model, recruiting core reading club members for offline reading and discussion, encouraging participation from classmates, dormitory groups, and student organizations, and using digital media to promote quality books, thereby expanding reading engagement to a broader audience. This approach has cultivated a strong reading atmosphere and helped students develop good reading habits.

        Moving forward, our college will continue to nurture more exemplary "Love Reading" cases, further guiding and inspiring young students to love reading, read quality books, and develop strong reading skills. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance campus culture, enrich the academic atmosphere, nurture the hearts and minds of teachers and students, and better promote the inheritance and innovation of China's outstanding traditional culture.
