In June 2024, HNMMC and Hunan Educational Television (HET) jointly established the Industry (Station) -Education (College) Integration Development Center. Since its inception, the Center has achieved significant outcomes in professional discipline construction, joint curriculum development, dual-qualified faculty building, and student internships and practical training. Among its innovative initiatives, the mutual appointment of dual-qualified teachers and cross-disciplinary classrooms have facilitated effective interaction between in-class and out-of-class learning through resource sharing and complementary advantages between the college and HET. These efforts have successfully fostered the organic integration of the education chain, talent chain, and industry chain.
The college has appointed professionals from HET as part-time instructors, fostering deep integration between industry experts and academic faculty. Industry professionals participate in curriculum design and teaching, sharing real-world experience and sector-specific knowledge. This model allows industry experts to introduce the latest developments and technologies to the classroom, helping students update their knowledge systems in real-time to adapt to industry trends. By integrating theoretical teaching with practical production, students' hands-on skills and innovation capabilities are further enhanced.
To share educational resources and promote interactive teaching, the college and HET have collaboratively designed and implemented courses with cross-disciplinary teaching approaches. Combining theoretical instruction with industry mentorship, the initiative strengthens ties between the college and industry. Experts in digital media and brand operations have been invited into classrooms to encourage diverse learning activities, enabling students to gain insights into industry frontiers and achieve comprehensive professional development. The Center has also partnered with a national education and training cloud-based brand incubation service provider to create a closed-loop teaching model. This approach integrates theoretical learning, hands-on practice, project implementation, and outcome evaluation. Faculty members lead students in practical training projects, helping them apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhancing their problem-solving abilities, and increasing their employability.
The Center adopts a project-based learning (PBL) method, allowing students to learn and apply course content by completing specific projects. For example, courses related to broadcasting and television, such as media production, program directing, and cinematography, include practical components like simulated live broadcasts and on-site internships. These hands-on opportunities enable students to bridge theory and practice effectively. Regular evaluations of project progress and student outcomes ensure continuous improvement in teaching methods and course content based on feedback.
Collaboration between disciplines, such as information technology, media studies, and broadcasting and television, is also encouraged to provide a holistic educational experience. The Center is developing a resource-sharing platform that includes online courses, instructional videos, and case studies for use by students and teachers. This ensures that curriculum content remains up-to-date and aligned with industry developments.
Through cross-disciplinary classrooms, the Center integrates real-world enterprise projects and demands into teaching, allowing students to learn and practice in authentic work environments. This approach enhances students' professional and innovative skills while enabling companies to identify and nurture potential talent, building a talent reserve for long-term development. Outstanding student performance during projects often leads to direct employment, reducing recruitment costs for enterprises. This mutually beneficial educational model offers new perspectives for institutional development, drives educational innovation, and aligns educational resources with industry needs, achieving a win-win integration of education and industry.
The Industry (Station) -Education (College) Integration Development Center not only provides students with enriched and practical learning resources but also offers teachers more professional development opportunities. By implementing mutual appointment of dual-qualified teachers and cross-disciplinary classrooms, the Center has cultivated a large number of high-quality media talents with innovation and practical abilities. These efforts inject new vitality into the media industry in Hunan and across China. In the future, the Center will continue deepening cooperation, exploring new pathways for industry-education integration, and striving to train more outstanding media professionals to meet societal needs.
