Recently, the international finals of the 2024 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition (BRICS Future Skills & Tech Challenge) in the Virtual Augmented Reality Development category were held in Kazan, Russia. Under the guidance of teachers Shan Yingxia and Zhang Jing, Xu Xuanqi and Tan Rong, students from the Digital Media Technology major (class of 2023) at the School of New Media Technology, won the international silver medal and the China regional gold medal, showcasing their solid professional skills.
As one of the most significant international vocational skills competitions, the 2024 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition attracted teams from Russia, China, India, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and other countries to compete on the same stage. The Virtual Augmented Reality Development category, in which our faculty and students participated, belongs to the Kazan "Super Cup" division. This category integrates knowledge from multiple disciplines, including computer science, artistic design, and human-computer interaction, representing a vital direction in modern technological development. For three consecutive years, our faculty and students in the Digital Media Technology major have achieved national-level honors in this category. This latest international breakthrough not only reflects HNMMC's remarkable achievements in cultivating talents in the application of virtual reality technologies but also demonstrates its relentless pursuit of fostering high-quality, technically skilled professionals with international vision and innovative spirit. Additionally, it enhances the college's reputation in the field of international vocational education.
In the future, HNMMC will continue to adhere to the principle of promoting teaching, learning, and competition through contests. It will actively organize students to participate in both international and domestic skills competitions, steadfastly advancing its high-quality internationalization efforts. The college aims to contribute significantly to furthering the opening-up of education, supporting vocational education going global, and strengthening vocational education cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative.
