In the golden autumn of September, with the fragrance of osmanthus in the air, HNMMC held a grand opening ceremony for the Class of 2024 at the athletic field on the morning of September 14th. Party Secretary Li Sanfu, Deputy Party Secretary Xie Jingwei, Vice Presidents Cheng Guizhen, Xu Jingxue, Lei Junlin, and Zhu Dan, and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary Yang Jinhui attended the ceremony. Relevant heads of various functional divisions (offices) and secondary schools also participated. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Lei Junlin.
During the ceremony, Li Sanfu warmly welcomed the new students of the Class of 2024 and expressed his high hopes for them with three concepts: First, with the spirit of creation, raise the sails of ideals—be firm in your beliefs, set your course, and persevere; second, with the courage to innovate, unlock the door to craftsmanship—be brave to try, dept at making updates, and daring to explore, using innovation to lead the future; and third, with the torch of creativity, light the path of life—uphold the college’s motto, keep advancing, and tread steadily on the path of “Creativity Lights up Your Life”.
As a representative of the faculty, Yin Niyating, a teacher from the Film and TV Directing major at the School of Journalism and Communication, encouraged the new students of 2024 to cultivate three abilities: self-awareness, self-management, and self-breakthrough. By persevering in learning earnestly, diligently, and wisely, they will eventually grow into high-skilled talents needed for societal development. Li Tongtong from Broadcasting and Hosting Class 2203 of the School of Film and Television Art and Wen Leling from Digital Media Technology Class of 2024 at the School of New Media Technology, spoke on behalf of the current and new students, respectively.
All leaders awarded flags to the military training regiment, the new students' military training camp, and the training brigade of the Class of 2024. At the end of the ceremony, Li Sanfu announced the official commencement of military training for the new students of the Class of 2024.
It is reported that the total number of new students in the Class of 2024 at our college is 3,370. In this year’s admissions, the admission score for the Physics Group in Hunan was 425, with 450 admitted students scoring above the undergraduate cutoff. The admission score for the History Group in Hunan was 432, with 321 admitted students meeting or exceeding the provincial undergraduate cutoff, accounting for 58% of new students in this group—a record-high achievement.
