April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day. The college invited Hu Changguo, an expert with rich experience in the field of intellectual property, to give an online lecture on this topic. More than 300 people including directors of relevant departments of the college, teachers and students from secondary schools participated.
The lecturer Hu Changguo took the theme of "protecting intellectual property rights, scientific innovation opens up your dreams", focusing on 5 aspects, including "what is intellectual property rights", "transformation of scientific and technological achievements", "patent and case analysis", "basic knowledge of trademarks", "basic knowledge of copyright", etc. He explained the importance of innovative invention and intellectual property protection to teachers and students with typical cases. Hu pointed out that innovation is the primary driving force for development, and protecting intellectual property is to protect innovation. Strengthening intellectual property protection is a powerful guarantee for implementing new development concepts, building a new development pattern, and advancing high-quality development. We must adhere to the road of development of intellectual property rights with Chinese characteristics, facilitate the transformation and application of intellectual property rights, and escort the self-reliance and self-improvement of national science and technology. The lecturer explained the profound in simple terms and analyzed it thoroughly, which deepened the understanding of our teachers and students on the current status of Chinese intellectual property industry, and also inspired new ideas and opened up new horizons for further research on intellectual property protection.
From April 20th to 26th, the college launched an intellectual property publicity week centering on "full start a new journey to build an intellectual property powerful nation". In addition to online lectures, the college carried out the distribution of Intellectual Property Day brochures to popularize among teachers and students the concept of intellectual property, the definition of patents and trademarks, and the ways to protect intellectual property.
