The "Chinese Bridge" 20th anniversary documentary series Bridge to and from, co-produced by Hunan Education TV, Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College, and the Base for International Promotion of Chinese Language and Culture, was officially launched on April 20, "International Chinese Day". Yuan Weikun, the Secretary of the Party committee of the college, and He Zhanbing, the President of the college, worked as the planners of the documentary, and Xie Jingwei, the Vice President of the college, as the coordinator.

Bridge to and from used the stories and life of previous "Chinese Bridge" contestants learning Chinese in China as the clue, and selected typical cases for follow-up filming and interviews to tell about their study, growth, marriage, and entrepreneurship stories from the perspective of observers. It is a narrative character documentary with the spirit of the times that deconstructs macro propositions with the help of stories, details, clips and other micro-events. It reflects the characteristics of the times, shows the characters’ style of the times, and records the development and changes of the times.

Over the past two decades, more than 2,000 college students from all over the world have come to the semi-finals and finals stages of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students. Adhering to the idea of One World, One Family, they utilized the Chinese language as a bridge, taking root in China and going global, to create miracles in their life paths. They are also witnesses of the vigorous international Chinese education and the development track of the reform and opening up of China in the past 20 years.

The documentary filming lasted one and a half years. The film crew overcame the difficulties of the epidemic and traveled to many cities across the country to record stories of the contestants in China. The content of the stories is divided into 4 chapters of "Light as Ever", "Dream Chasing Journey", "Fleeting Times of Midsummer" and "Dream the Future". Since April 20, the documentary has been broadcast simultaneously on the official website of "Chinese Bridge" (http:// bridge.chinese.cn), the official video account of "Chinese Bridge", the official website of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College (http://www.hnmmc.cn), Hunan Education TV Channel, Hunan Education TV Official Website (http://www.hnedutv.com), Hunan Education Release, Hunan Education TV account on Xuexi.cn and other platforms.
