On March 5th, Yuan Weikun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, and his party went to the Yaozu Township of Huxing Mountain in Longhui County and Huaxing Vocational and Technical School to investigate rural revitalization and vocational education. Peng Zhubin, Director of the School of Journalism and Communication, Hunan University, Liu Shiming, member of the Standing Committee of Longhui County Party Committee and deputy county mayor, Kang Tianhui, deputy director of Hunan University's Designated Assistance Office, and Zhou Yichao, chairman of Huaxing Vocational and Technical Secondary School, accompanied the investigation.
Yuan Weikun and his entourage came to Baishuidong Village Hujiuwuyu Selenium-enriched Tea Cooperative, 1,500 acres of Grand Terraced Fields, and Baishuidong Hexi Primary School to conduct field research, and learned more about the Party building and leadership, industrial development, cultural tourism development, and the following work planning on rural revitalization from the two committees of Baishuidong Village Branch and the village-resident-team of Hunan University. At the symposium held by two parties, Liu Shiming and Kang Tianhui gave a brief introduction of the Yao Nationality Township in Huxing Mountain and the work of Hunan University to assist rural revitalization. Yuan Weikun said that the college will fully learn from the advanced experience of Hunan University in helping the Yao nationality township in Huxingshan, especially the innovative approach in promoting rural revitalization through the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism, and accelerating the development of college's rural revitalization work in villages. Both sides also conducted preliminary exchanges on the establishment of a sketching base for the School of Visual Arts in Huxing Mountain. It is reported that since 2015, Hunan University and Baishuidong Village have carried out designated assistance to explore and practice the regional production model of "the first industry motivates the third industry and promotes the second industry", mainly providing scientific, educational and cultural assistance, residential protection and tourism development planning support. Years of continuous assistance have built Huxing Mountain a national scenic spot, which has effectively improved the economic income and living standards of local villagers.
Huaxing Vocational and Technical School is a private vocational middle school with nearly 20 years of experience in running schools, and it is the backbone vocational school in Hunan Province. Yuan Weikun and his entourage came to Huaxing Vocational and Technical School to inspect the school-running environment, professional construction and practical training conditions, and communicated on the construction of the digital media technology major held by the college in a cooperative school-running partnership for secondary and higher vocational education. Yuan Weikun made a commitment that the college would fully exert the strengths in profession, intelligence, and talents to give more support to Huaxing Vocational and Technical School through teacher education and training, professional construction assistance, and other methods.
