On December 20, at the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the "Chinese Bridge" organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College won the "Chinese Bridge" 20-year Outstanding Contribution Award and became one of 20 winners in this commendation. 20 contestants, 20 teachers and 20 organizations around the world were honored in this event.
The 20th anniversary celebration of "Chinese Bridge" was held in Beijing. The Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng attended the event and delivered a speech. People attended the event including Deputy Minister of Education Tian Xuejun, Dominican Ambassador to China Garabito, Spanish Ambassador to China Dezcallar, and Mozambique, Madagascar, Russia, Mongolia, Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand and other countries’ diplomatic envoys to China, outstanding contestants and tutors of all previous years, representatives of cooperative organizations, as well as Chinese and foreign teachers and students.
Since 2008, the college has participated in the organization and implementation of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students for 12 consecutive years. Under the guidance of the competition organizing committee and the executive committee, the college has participated in the tasks of event planning, organization, player reception, volunteer selection and training, venue provision, logistics support, etc., and conducted an active work in event publicity, security and others. Over the years, the college has adhered to the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture, making elaborate plans and good organization with highlighted characteristics. In the preparation of the competition, we have always stick to the original intention while continuously innovating with ingenuity, and bringing forth new ideas in the forms of international exchanges through constant exploration, and the methods of promoting traditional Chinese culture. We have been committed to spread the good voice of China, create a media-integrated propaganda matrix to boost the development of the "Chinese-Bridge" event, and help the "Chinese Bridge" event grow into a shining non-governmental diplomatic "business card" that demonstrates China from true, stereoscopic and comprehensive perspectives, spreads the beauty of world civilization, and facilitates exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
The 20th anniversary celebration of "Chinese Bridge" was organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education. In the past two decades, the "Chinese Bridge" competition has covered more than 160 countries, inviting more than 170,000 young people to participate in summer camp groups to experience Chinese language and culture in China, and attracting more than 1.5 million youngsters to participate in the Chinese language competition for foreign university and middle school students. The "Chinese-Bridge" is known as the "bridge of culture, friendship and spirit" connecting China and the world.
