On November 26, the Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education was officially established.
The inaugural meeting was conducted through a combination of online and offline ways, and venues were set up in Beijing Fengtai Vocational High School , Beijing and Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College. Lu Xin, President of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Guoqing, Honorary Dean of the Academy of Media and Public Affairs, Communication University of China, Spokesperson for the 12th/13th CPPCC National Committee, and former Deputy Director of State Council Information Office, Huang Guozhu, former President of the People’s Liberation Army Daily and major general, and Liu Ying, the second-level inspector of the Vocational and Adult Education Department of the Ministry of Education, attended the meeting at the main venue in Beijing. Yuan Weikun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College, and Liu Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Cheng Guizhen, Secretary of the HNMMC Commission for Discipline Inspection, Xie Jingwei, Vice President of the HNMMC, and member representatives from related vocational colleges and enterprises in the province attended the conference in the Hunan branch venue. The College’s Convergence Media Center connected to the main venue in Beijing to broadcast the grand event of the conference.
With the theme of "Assisting to the new development of convergence media, and empowering the new ecology of vocational education", the conference was attended online by representatives of more than 180 vocational colleges from 25 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country.
At the meeting, Lu Xin delivered a keynote speech. Lu said that the establishment of the Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee is a lively practice to implement construction of think tank type of a society by the Ministry of Education and the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education. It is necessary to explore the combination of convergence media technology, advanced manufacturing technology, and industrial information technology, and to facilitate the cultivation of the talents with high-quality technical skills in intelligent convergence media, and increase the breadth of making and disseminating intelligent convergence media products in order to promote Chinese propositions, Chinese wisdom, and Chinese solutions.
Lu Xin specifically mentioned that the micro-video Secretary Tells the Party History on the theme of the Party history learning and education by the Convergence Media Center of our college, highlighted the role of the ideological and political education position of the Center of colleges and universities, and plugged the wings of new media for ideological and political education, making ideological and political education warm, profound and powerful.
At the meeting, the Letter on Approving the Establishment of the Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education was read out. It reviewed and approved the Preparatory Work Report of the Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee and the Work Regulations of the Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee (Protocol). Yuan Weikun, HNMMC made an explanation of the Election Method of "Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee". The meeting elected the first committee organization institution and pointed Yuan Weikun, as the Executive Deputy Director of the First Committee, and Xie Jingwei, as the Deputy Director vice president of the First Committee.
It is reported that the Intelligent Convergence Media Professional Committee has a total of 182 member units, including 7 regular universities, 98 higher vocational colleges, 39 secondary vocational schools, 20 companies, and 18 media organizations. It aims to adhere to professional construction under the leadership of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and position “five in one” of professional construction, research consulting, academic guidance, communication and publicity, and industry training. It is established to create a “talent pool” that serves the high-quality development of the country’s convergence media industry and a “think tank” that leads the transformation and upgrading of the traditional media industry to tell a good Chinese story, spread the voice of China, and boost the reform and development of vocational education in the new era.
