From July 3rd to 4th, the Hunan Provincial Final of the 1st "Learning Cup" National College Comprehensive Business English Competence Contest was held in Hunan International Business Vocational College. 6 students majoring in Business English from our college participated in the contest. After fierce competition in four sessions, they won the first prize of the professional group and two individual awards, and successfully advanced to the national finals.

This competition is sponsored by the China Association of International Trade and adopts a three-level competition system of school-level preliminary competition, provincial semi-final, and national final. Among them, the Hunan provincial final was organized by Hunan International Business Vocational College. The semi-final was composed of four modules: micro-video works evaluation (40%), online knowledge competition (20%), on-the-spot presentation of works(30%) and answering questions from the judges (10%). Group awards was set based on the participating teams. The "Top Narrator" award was set for the contestants who presented the works on site. The "Top Critical Thinker" awards was set for the contestants in the event of answering questions. The top 3 teams in total team scores advanced to the national final.

Our college completed the school competition on May 6, and selected 6 Business English major students Zhou Xumin (Class 1901), He Danyi (Class 1903), Huang Xiaoyun (Class 1902), Xie Jinren (Class 1902), He Nianhua (Class 1902) and Li Xilian (Class 1901) formed a team to participate in the semi-final of the Hunan Division, while teachers Deng Xin and Tan Xiao, from the Business English Teaching and Research Office gave a guidance during the whole process. After two months of diligent preparation and hard training, our team won not only the first prize of the group and the Outstanding Instructor award but also all the individual awards, including the "Top Narrator" award to Zhou Xumin and the "Top Critical Thinker" award to He Danyi.
