Recently, the winners of the 7th Public Service Advertisement Competition for collegiate in Hunan Province were officially announced. The School of Visual Arts, the School of Journalism and Communication, the School of Management and other secondary schools and departments actively organized students to participate in the competition, receiving 10 first prizes, 16 second prizes, and 5 third prizes. In addition, our college won the Excellent Organization Award of the competition.
Guided by teacher Luo Bo, student Liu Bingsong and Hong Qi’s graphic work "Journey to the East and Journey to the West Today" won the first prize, which was based on well-known mythological stories, aiming to publicize "civilized travel, safe arrival" by showing the mythical figures wearing masks and keeping a social distance.
The video advertising work “Spreading the Moral Outlook, Setting an Civilized Example”, created by Hu Xiangning, Li Zhenlin and Liu Lubing under the guidance of teacher Gan Zhinan, won the first prize, which was based on moral education and model dissemination. The works presented the good deeds by excellent moral models in Hunan through artistic processing in order to move more people and arouse their benevolence.
With the help of teacher Sun Shanshan, Ji Beixi, Wang Jiayu and Wang Qixin won the first prize for the animation work “The Civilized Strength in Transforming Improper Customs during the Epidemic Period”, designed to promote the change in the improper traditions and establish a civilized rural custom. The works took the national civilized village-the eighteen-holes village in western Hunan as an example, and demonstrated its experience in poverty elimination and achieving moderate prosperity in the form of animation through a series of plots, such as simplifying wedding ceremony, giving substantial support to parents but hold simple funerals for them after their deaths, and avoiding extravagant funeral and wedding. The work impressed judges with its novel and eye-catching expression.
The other award-winning works of our students are also remarkable, featured with creative highlights, keeping up with the times, and fully demonstrating the good spirit of the teachers and students of our college in practicing public welfare undertakings.
It is reported that this competition collected more than 2,300 entries submitted by 83 colleges and universities across the province, setting a new high record in the numbers of participating colleges and entries in history. Ultimately, the competition selected 269 awarded works, 10 excellent organization awards, and 12 online popularity awards.
The Hunan Provincial Public Service Advertisement Competition for University Students was sponsored by the Civilization Office, the Party Committee Education Working Committee, and the Department of Education of Hunan Province, organized by the Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College, and co-organized by the Information Center of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is a provincial-level event open to colleges and universities in the province. The 7th competition was themed by “Painting Hunan by Civilized Practices”. The civilized practices have “Four Orientations”, including to build a public platform for learning and disseminating scientific theories, reinforce the position for grassroots ideological and political work, cultivate people and promote the outlook of the spirit in the new era, and create a favorable stage for the volunteer service with Chinese characteristics, and “Five Tasks” of learning and practicing scientific theories, publicizing and promoting the Party’s policies, cultivating and fulfilling core values, enriching and activating cultural life, and continuing the transformation of improper traditions and customs. Driven by this purpose, the competition was looking for excellent public service advertisement works from all universities and colleges in the province.
The Hunan Provincial Public Service Advertisement Competition for collegiate has been held for seven consecutive years since 2014. From 217 works submitted by 32 colleges and universities in the first competition to more than 2,000 works from 83 colleges and universities in the 7th competition, the participation of all universities has increased year by year, and so does the attention to the competition, which has promoted the cultural construction of campuses and enhanced the public awareness of teachers and students. Moreover, the competition has attracted the universities from other provinces to participate. The competition has gradually become a business card of Hunan's public welfare undertakings for its influence and popularity nationwide.
On April 21, the Civilization Office, the Department of Education, and the Market Supervision and Administration of Hunan Province jointly issued a public service advertisement of Hunan with the theme of “Carrying the initial aspiration for one hundred years to forge ahead” and the notice of the 8th Public Service Advertisement Competition for collegiate, which will be again organized by HNMMC.
