In the 2nd National Contest of Traditional Skills Inheritance and Development for Vocational Colleges recently concluded, the paper Inheritance and Innovation of Inlay Skills in Traditional Chinese Lacquer Paintings—The Performance Technique and Creative Expression of the Natural Color Collage Decoration Painting of Eggshell Material by a team of teachers from the Visual Arts School Duan Zemin, Yuan Jinge, Chen Jingbo and Liu Lin won the first prize of the thesis project. The project The Performance Technique and Creative Expression of the Natural Color Collage Decoration Painting of Eggshell Material won the third prize of Excellent Cases. Under the guidance of teacher Duan Zemin and Chen Jingbo, students’ team projects Soldering Iron Painting Craftsmanship and Dyeing and Weaving Craftsmanship both won the third prizes of Skills Demonstration.

On 24 October, representatives of teachers and students of award-winning team were invited to participate in the National Seminar on the Inheritance and Development of Traditional Skills in Vocational Colleges. The conference is co-sponsored by the Cultural Quality Education Guidance Committee of Vocational Colleges of the Ministry of Education and the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It is a major conference with strong credibility, high professional standards and wide influence in the industry.

The competition received nearly 200 papers and 180 student projects from 200 colleges across the country . This year witnessed the first win of HNMMC in this competition.
