On November 17, the 1st Hunan Provincial Cheerleading Competition for Secondary Vocational Schools was held in HNMMC. A total of 45 teams with nearly 1000 contestants from cities and prefecture in the province took part in the competition. Leaders and guests present at the competition were Ying Rouping, inspector of Education Department of Hunan, Yu Weiliang, director of the Vocational and Adult Section of Education Department of Hunan, Party secretary Yuan Weikun and president Ma Yujun of our college.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Yu Weiliang, director of the Vocational and Adult Section of Education Department of Hunan.

President Ma Yujun, on behalf of the faculty and students, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and contestants. He pointed out that, as the organizer of the competition, our college attached great importance to the educational effect and positive role of sports. The competition would be a grand event to show the athletic level and spiritual outlook of secondary vocational schools, a review of students' quality, and a bridge to strengthen communication and friendship among all secondary vocational schools. Our college would live up to all the expectations to work hard by providing quality services for all teams to ensure the success of the competition.

The competition was divided into two items, dance cheerleading and technical cheerleading. Teams could choose the required or optional movements. The competition content was divided into four forms: pompon, jazz, hip-hop, techniques. On the competition field, 45 teams competed with each other, showing their fighting spirit and positive youth vitality.

After a whole day of exciting and intense competition, Changsha Preschool Normal Junior College, Jishou Ethnic Preschool Normal Junior College, Shaoyang Habo Vocational Secondary School, Changsha Vocational Secondary School of Finance and Economics respectively won the first prize of cheerleadings of pompon, hip-hop, jazz, and techniques. Changde Technician College, Changsha Vocational Secondary School of Finance and Economics, Wugang Vocational Secondary School and other 12 schools won the "sportsmanship award".Our school has won the "PE Morality Award". Our college won the “Outstanding Organization Award”. Moreover,the competition selected 31 "outstanding coaches", 135 "outstanding athletes" and 8 "outstanding judges" .
