On November 8, the School of Visual Art held the 2020 Hunan Vocational Skills Competition mobilization meeting. Party secretary Yuan Weikun attended the meeting and gave his guidance. Directors of the School of Visual Art, the person in charge of the organization of the competition, the faculty advisers presented at the meeting.

At the meeting, Party secretary Yuan Weikun gave high praise to the achievements that teachers and students of the School of Visual Art have made in competitions for the past few years. He stressed that the vocational skills competition is an important decision of the Party Central Committee on vocational education, to which we should attach great importance by improving our political position and responding positively. Competition is necessary for education and teaching, which is considered as an important aspect of the landmark results. The result of competitions is a direct way to test the education and teaching effect. Yuan Weikun hoped that faculty and students of the School of Visual Art would be oriented to the results while uphold the spirit of striving for success, strengthening team cohesion and taking advantage of competitions to promote teaching, learning and training. Great efforts should be made to further enhance the ability of schooling,teachers' mentoring skills and students' operational ability. All teachers and students were expected to put their strength together to complete tasks for participation organization of the competition, aiming to achieve better results.

The School of Visual Art attended 6 contest items of this competition, including landscape design and construction, animation production, mobile convergence media applied technology, the application of decorative building technology, clothing design and technology, and industrial product modeling design and additive manufacturing technology. The school undertook two provincial, tems which are animation production and mobile convergence media applied technology on behalf of the college.
