On July 29th, 157 contestants from 144 competition regions in 122 countries competed in the intense rematch, and the top 30 finalists of the 18th Chinese Bridge competition came into Beijing.

In the rematch, all the contestants were grouped by continents, answering the questions in the same time. Each question was scored 2 points. The results of Cross-brige competition and that of the rematch accounted for 70% and 30% respectively. The contestants who reached the 100 points firstly were selected in the top 30 and qualified for the finals. If 100 points were reached at the same time, the one with higher total scores got qualified.

In the end, the top 30 contestants of the 18th Chinese Bridge competition were promoted to the finals, including Sasha (Russia) and other 6 contestants from the European group, Lin Xia (Madagascar) and other 5 contestants from the African group, Li Meng (Brazil) and other 5 contestants from the Americas group, Wu Yuqiu (New Zealand) and other 3 contestants from the Oceania group, Jin Leisheng (North Korea) and other 6 contestants from the Asian group.

From July 30th to 31st, 127 contestants who failed to enter the finals will be guided by the volunteers to go to Liling World Ceramic Art City, Yuelu Academy and Hunan Museum for cultural experience. The top 30 finalists will attend pre-competition training by HNMMC and Hunan Satellite TV.

In the Cross-brige competition and the rematch, the Secretary of the Party Committee in HNMMC Yuan Weikun and the President of HNMMC Ma Yujun went to the site of competition to visit the contestants and expressed their gratitude to the staff and volunteers who insisted in providing good services for the contestants in the intense heat of summer.

According to the schedule, the 18th Chinese Bridge finals will be held from July 30th to August 14th. It will be divided into 8 games in 2 rounds, producing 5 continent champions for the general final.
