Recently, the finals of the 23rd China University Robot Competition ROBOTAC event were held in Beijing. For the first time, students from our School of New Media Technology, guided by teachers Zhang Jing, Zhang Lili, and Tan Xuzhen from the Digital Media Technology major, participated in the competition and won awards across the board, making our college the only one in Hunan Province to receive such recognition. The team won one first prize, one second prize, and two third prizes. In the finals, our team competed against 30 teams from prestigious universities such as Nankai University, Nanjing University, Anhui University, and Chengdu University, standing out and achieving excellent results. This achievement highlights our college's unique advantage in cultivating talent in digital media.
The China University Robot Competition (CURC) is a public competition focused on robotics technology innovation and engineering practice for college students. The competition is held annually and currently includes three main events: ROBOCON, ROBOMASTER, and ROBOTAC. ROBOTAC (Robot + Tactic) is a national-level robotics competition created in China. The goal of the competition is to guide students through the entire process of robot development and application, including task analysis, creative proposal, solution design, manufacturing, programming, assembly, testing, simulation, and competitive challenges. This stimulates students' creativity and imagination, enhances their practical skills and mental fortitude, and fosters teamwork. In 2019, ROBOTAC was included in the evaluation system for academic competitions in general higher education institutions, as published by the China Association of Higher Education.
The teaching team of the Digital Media Technology major at our School of New Media Technology will continue to leverage the advantages of our national-level innovation team in teaching. Aligning with the national "Robotics+" strategy and the rising demand for 3D content driven by the digital economy, we will enhance the application of 3D content creation software, promote learning and teaching through competitions, continuously optimize teaching methods, strengthen practical education, and make relentless efforts to foster new quality productive forces for regional industry development.
